You did well Mr Schrodinger's cat. Thoroughly enjoyed it. A+

I truly appreciate it, but no, it wasn't my mixtape that you reviewed. :P

FUCK. NOW I HAVE TO EDIT SO AS NOT TO LOOK LIKE A RETARD.

Me and Fitz both suspected I was getting your mixtape.

four rizzle? well I didn't want to give anything away, but I had to say so. Although I was seriously tempted to wait until the original creator saw your post.

Hahaha wow I feel like such an idiot.

I'm kind of sad now that I'm all done...My tape has been reviewed and I've reviewed a tape...

it feels like christmas day... when someone gives you a present and you have to guess whose present is it, and then the other way round.

/cheesy-ness

Oh. Okay. Thank you Carla. :]

1. Good piano instrumental track. I love it, great way to start off a mixtape.

2. I've never really been a fan of female vocals, so at the start I was a bit hesitant. But it's not a bad song, very chilled out and relaxing.

3. Not in English, which is tough for me cause I'm pretty big on lyrics.

4. See number 3. Although the instruments are nice, I gess?

5. Hmm. I like the music and the feel of it, but her voice is a really annoying.

6. I like this song, it's nice and laid back. The lyrics are nice too. Thumbs up.

7. A little boring for me, I think I like more upbeat stuff. I do like the parts where it picks up though.

8. Excited to hear the start of this. Hmm. Sounds like Fiest? It's a catchy song, still not a huge fan of female vocals.

9. Language again.

10. This is really nice. I love the long intro, beautiful. Thumbs up.

11. I really like this one too. Faster tempo, love the lyrics. It's a good tune, feeling it. Thumbs up.

12. (BONUS) Coldplay from the first note, I can tell. Waiting For Superman. This is fantastic cause I didn't have an MP3 of this. Thanks :)

Overall. There were a few tracks that I thought were great. Some others I really couldn't get into cause of the language or just because they were slow? Maybe that's my fault though, and I'm missing out. But there'll definately be a few new additions to my iTunes. :)

Track #1 The beginning was decent and at around 1:00 I started really liking the song.

Track #2 I was just thinking about how the beat is nice, and then... wtf happened at around 2:00? XD

Track #3 Not really my cup of tea. :\

Track #4 Beautiful beginning... a bit boring song though.

Track #5 Love it!

Track #6 Hmm interesting beginning. The instrumental part near the end is nice.

Track #7 Sounds familiar. :inquisitive: I really like the beat... and the whole song! Whatever it is, thanks for putting it.

Track #8 For some reason I could imagine this would be a good song to listen to while walking.

Track #9 Don't know what to say about this one. It didn't really hold my attention.

Track #10 ^. Maybe I'm just tired and will think different tomorrow.

Track #11 It seems like a relaxing song but not really... I mean, you wouldn't see me listening to this while relaxing...

Track #12 The beginning instantly reminded me of something that happened recently. Thank you thank you thank you. :wacky:

Track #13 Very nice ending for a mixtape. :D

Whoever made this did an awesome job.

I wanted to have the first three tracks electronic and weird. The forth may take some time to get used to but she's amazing. The 3rd and 9th I saw in concert and they were so good. Number 12 is from the Amelie soundtrack and If you haven't seen the movie yet you really should it's super cute and the music is fantastic :)

I'm also glad you liked the last one, it's one of my favorite ending songs

Thanks!

track one:

love it, love it, great entrance :nice: string quarted, i think is some bach. (that was played on a monthly event i attened some time ago, so brought many good memories).

track two:

acoustic guitar, sounds like mr. luke prictchard, The Kooks, or am i mistaken? although don't sound so the kooks in the middle, yay the voice is of mr. pritchard, i like the chorus "choir".

track three:

more acoustic guitar, oh i love that one.... let me think... oh god, is pixies' where's my mind? love it.

track four:

can't define which bands is, i like it, is soft, piano, nice voice, backing vocal.

it feels frustrating because i have the feeling i know that band.... but can't remember the name.... is something in the line of soft coldplay, similar bands like (i can be all wrong :worried: ) definitelly the main melody is so familiar to me.

track five:

sounds like mr jack white voice, i could be wrong, but drums and guitar (definitelly is some project in which Mr White is involved) go to sound like The White Stripes, am i wrong? don't know which song is.

track six:

found it... doves or elbow (i use to confuse them :embarassed: ) nice guitar chord. "and it's you and it's me"

track seven:

some cover, like a rolling stone by bob dylan... i don't know who covers it :uhoh:

track eight:

acoustic entrance, radiohead, that is thom yorke voice... song is... creep. (honestly that song remind me of a person i know, Jonas :worried: )

track nine:

(got me screaming aloud really, oh my god), the raconteurs i'm pretty sure... a shame i don't remember the song now.

track ten:

another one that sounds familiar... i got the feeling they would be bloc party at first, but now i'm not sure. kinda falsetto now...

track eleven:

love the entrance, but another song that sound familiar and i have no clue which band is :embarassed: (i get the feeling is a song re-released from some old band or something)

track twelve:

another one that sounds so familiar, as the singer voice, as i know the band.... sounds too mellow to say is a incubus song, but sounds like mr. Boyd voice.

track thirteen:

 i like the progression of sound, so danceable  but again no clue who those are...

i'm wondering who made that one. :) (may be nihcoldplay?)

i like the structure it have, how the sound progress on styles and more rhythm, yet i would had let some softer song or instrumental in the middle, (but that it would be me) i really liked it :D well work to whoever did it.

now i am wondering if my "guesses" are right and to know who those other bands i was not able to identify are.

yaaay! im so glad you like it!

Where's the wanker who sent me my mixtape?

Where's the wanker who sent me my mixtape?

Here!!!!

Not!

Just kidding, but calling him a wanker helps how?

if anyone cares, i updated my post with the sendspace link:nice:

Track 1- Turn by Travis. GREAT song. Heard it before, but the choice of a great starter song got me really excited about the rest of the album.

Track 2- Interesting track, sort of Classic Rock-ish...maybe even Beach Boy-ish? I like the vocals, especially the backing vocals. The song got better and better as it went on, and ended quite nicely.

Track 3- Nice atmospheres all the way through. Ace vocal harmonies. Every time the atmospheres went down, I thought it was about to just take off, but never really did. 3 for 3 so far.

Track 4- Grounds for Divorce by Elbow  Everyone knows this song is amazing, no need for me to review it. All I have to say is that it's even better live.

Track 5- Sounds almost like Green Day, except less shitty. I think I've heard this artist before... Very nice acoustic guitar and piano.

Track 6- Good piano, but the song as a whole never really exploded like I was wishing it would. Is this Arcade Fire?? With about 50 seconds left the vocals really reminded me of them.

Track 7- A little bit too punkish for me, but still a decent track.

Track 8- Isn't this from that Disney movie? EPIC haha. Refreshing change from the previous tracks.

Track 9- Jack Johnson? The guitar and vocal style sound a lot like him. Not bad.

Track 10- I recognize the style. Hmmm...sounds almost country-ish. Forgettable.

Track 11- 10 and 11 are definitely the two most forgettable tracks on this mixtape. It got better as it built up, though.

Track 12- Awesome lyrics and great piano. Nice track for a wedding

Track 13- Win. So many instruments all coming together for a big huge orgy of awesomeness. Ace lyrics, ace vocals. I DEMAND more of this artist. SAAAYYY THAT YOU'LL STAY.

Track 14- Reminds me of Travis. Really good song. About 3 minutes in the vocal harmonies are epic.

Track 15- The vocals remind me of Elbow  Great way to finish a mixtape.

You did well mystery person. Thoroughly enjoyed it. A+

Hey Josh! As it turns out I was your mystery mixtaper. :P I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :nice: Since I don't really know much about you, my "theme" (as it were) was to just share some of my favorite music, but it looks like we have similar taste.

Anyway, here is a tracklisting:

1.Turn, by Travis- I actually saw (after it was too late) that you listened to Travis already, but I thought it was a great way to start off the mix anyway. Looks like you agreed.

2. Never Miss a Beat, by the Kaiser Chiefs- This is off of their most recent album, Off With their Heads. Definitely check out their first album though, Employment. Definitely a fan. :)

3. Even Tho, by Joseph Arthur- Surprised you didn't recognize this one, as you put a song by him on your own playlist. But I thought it was a pretty cool song, exactly for those reasons you mentioned.

4. Grounds for Divorce, by Elbow- *sigh* Isn't it just such a great song? :wacky: You are absolutely right about it being freaking AMAZING live. I wish they were touring the states more!!! :bigcry:

5. Your Smile's a Drug, by Patrick Park- at your comment about Green Day! I really love this guy, he's kind of folky singer-songwriter kind of type. If you like him, definitely check him out, especially this album, Loneliness Knows My Name.

6. Site of the Crash, by Kevin Miller- Okay, confession. Kevin Miller is a friend of mine from high school. To be totally honest, I wasn't totally thrilled by his music (I like it, but it doesn't really do much for me, you know?) but I was interested to get an opinion from someone on the outside. :P And if you like him, his album is for sale on iTunes! :P

7. Army, by Ben Folds Five- Ah, I really like this song, sorry it wasn't to your tastes. It's AWESOME live though.

8. Mercury, the Winged Messenger, composed by Gustav Holst- Hahaha, I don't think it's in a Disney movie, but it is my favorite movement from the Planets Suite. You've probably heard Jupiter or Mars, as they are definitely the most well-known from the suite. I do enjoy classical music now and then, so don't make fun! :P

9. The General, by Dispatch- yes, you are definitely right, these guys are in a similarly themed vein to Jack Johnson. I really like the political message in this song.

10. Underneath, by.... are you ready for this? Hanson- Yep, that Hanson, those guys from 1998 who sounded like girls on their super-sweet track MmmBop! Okay, so the story behind this one goes: My college roommate turned out to be a huge Hanson fan, 10 years later. :P She took me along to a show (at a sketchy bar in Buffalo, NY... see how far they've come?) and I thought this was song was pretty. :nice:

11. Slideshow, by Rufus Wainwright-- Don't blame you for not loving this song, actually. Well, I mean, I like it, but I've found Rufus Wainwright is one of those artists you either love or hate, so I figured it could go either way on that one.

12. The Luckiest, by Ben Folds-- Yeah, the same guy as in Ben Folds Five but without his band. :P Really pretty and kind of sad song.

13. After Hours, by We Are Scientists- Oh, I'm glad you liked it so much! :nice: Yeah, definitely a fun song. And they're fun live (or so I've heard... unfortunately I missed them at All Points West a couple weeks ago) they joke around a lot so it's almost like getting a two-for-one show: comedy and music. :P

14. Love is the End, by Keane- I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song, just so pretty. :nice: It's off of their most recent album, Perfect Symmetry (and if you get a chance, check out the title track-- another one of my all-time favorite songs)

15. Switching Off, by Elbow-- you were right, it sounds like Elbow because it is Elbow! This is definitely one of my all time favorite songs, of like, ever. :P Supposedly it's about choosing the moments you want to remember as you're dying. So I thought it would make a good closer. :laugh3:

I'm so glad you liked it! And if anyone else thinks it sounds interesting, here's the download link:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VNMT5NS0

edit: I'm no wanker! :P Just someone who was taking her time writing a very detailed tracklisting. :D

Now when I see what other people put on their mixtape, I'm a bit worried. Most of the songs on the one I'm making are most likely to be guessed.
