December 8, 200916 yr that's what i thought too...tho when i try to look a song's genre up in Wikipedia or those mp3 tagging tools, i get a whole assortment of stuff. e.g. Daft Punk = Euro House, Fatboy Slim = Big Beat .........me = :confused:There are thousands of subgenres, and often only subtle differences between them if any. And the classifications and relationships change depending on who you ask. Which is why people just say electronica. Wikipedia actually has a pretty good breakdown of some of them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Electronic_music_genres
December 9, 200916 yr for me there are many new names in here!.. that means > new music  i like ratatat apparat bodi bill modeselektor moderat b.hantoot royksopp hot chip jon hopkins kruder&dorfmeister the postal service paul kalkbrenner does 'air' count ? or 'bent' ? and what about 'shantel' ?? :) edit: modeselektor as the support act for radiohead in berlin back in 2008 was really nice and totally fitted the show :)

August 13, 201015 yr This needs a bump! Great songs / artists mentioned here btw. I've seen "Berlin Calling" recently and since then I just need to listen to the soundtrack from time to time... I've worked at a minimal party which was once a month for more than a year and although it was so extremely stressful, this movie made me miss the parties actually! Never thought I'd say I missed them. (The music was good but not the people attending the party who made working at the bar hell sometimes). So here's another plug for Paul Kalkbrenner and the amazing soundtrack: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sHAxy0NglY]YouTube- Train - Paul Kalkbrenner[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKxqOqLIsls]YouTube- Paul Kalkbrenner - Azure[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zwlq4Bv4SM]YouTube- Paul Kalkbrenner sky and sand Video[/ame] Oh and this one's not so well known I think but I love the typewriter sound. :awesome: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E18vNqxZ4ak]YouTube- Boys Noize - Let's Buy Happiness[/ame]

August 13, 201015 yr I love M.I.A... I haven't heard her recent album though. It has awesome artwork :wacky: Yay I'm glad someone else does here. I feel like people here would hate her here. Her new album takes a few listens to really like it people say it's just noise, but it's really good.
August 14, 201015 yr Bump. The Postal Service, Deadmau5, Kraftwerk, Moby, Crystal Castles. Stuff like that.
August 15, 201015 yr Some Björk albums can be considered electronic so I guess I'll add her as my fav. I absolutely love the knife/fever ray as well. Massive attack, m83, the postal service, flying lotus, apparat, modeskeletor, aphex tiwn, air, broadcast (not sure if they enter in this category, sexiest voice evah). And some other stuff like Lykke Li, Phantogram, Lcd soudsystem, goldfrapp or even Thom yorke but they're more like electronic rock. Someone mentioned Portishead but I don't think they're exactly electronic.

October 1, 201114 yr Hi!! I was in bed at 5am, awake since 10... I'm a zombie!! :freak: It was a nice night though. :) Light / visuals were underwhelming and I had a low point in the middle of Paul's set. I'd have needed a bit more rest before! Three more days of working until my day off. Ufff.
October 1, 201114 yr I don't mind Royksopp, which the OP mentioned. There are a few others I like too.
