The Simpsons - Best Of Thread

Featured Replies

TV shows like Family Guy (especially that new series.. it was shit) etc have tried and failed to take the crown of the simpsons so we're talking about something great here.

So this is the thread to discuss one of the finest tv shows this world has offered us. By this thread I don't mean you discuss why you think the Simpsons is crap now, or whether you like The Simpsons, this thread is to discuss either your favourite episodes, your favourite moments or your most favourite quote from the show OR what made it or makes it such a unique comedy in the first place!

For the record my favourite episode is "Homer's Phobia" "He didn't give you gay did he?" Homer's stupidity is at it's most hilarious.

This show is epic.

I can't think of any favorite moments off-hand, as there are too many great moments.

I have always loved thie simpsons no matter what!!:D:D:D:D

I mean I watch family guy too, but come on the simpsons are a classic

The Simpsons is always consistent, that is what makes it great, each character has a story and many great comedic aspects to them.

Homer is my favorite, because I enjoy his stupidity. I mean, he isn't as stupid as Peter Griffen, which is what makes The Simpsons so easy to watch

I laughed all the way through an episode which showed Sideshow Bob as the mayor of an italian city. That was hilarious.

One of the best episodes I watched was actually from the most recent series in which Moe dated a dwarf. It was a far cry from some of the more bizarre episodes in recent series and one which has gone a long way to believing the show has improved from that dodgy 2000 - 2006 era.

I remember that!

She sent him a pic of her near a monument (i dont remember which one) but it was a miniature one!

Bart (in Principal Skinner's office): I wanna talk to Homer Sexual, please.

Moe: Uh, Homer Sexual? Aw, come on, come on, one of you guys has gotta be Homer Sexual!

Homer says "Don't look at me!"

Oh, no...

You rotten little punk! If I ever get a hold of you, I'll sink my teeth into your cheek and rip your face off!

Skinner, on the other end of the line, says "You'll do what, young man?"

That episode is one of the best. I have Seasons 1 through 10 on DVD. I love the older seasons six is probably the best. The new ones are shit because the animation is too good and they ran out of ideas. The only episode I can think of off the top of my head that I love is when Homer beats up George Bush SR.

This show owns the world.

The best episode(s) may be the one(s) where Maggie shot Mr. Burns.

That was one of the GENIUS moments in tv history!

One of my favorite episodes is when they go to a football (soccer) match to see which country (Mexico or Portugal) is the best in the world and it starts a riot. To protect his family Homer buys a gun at Blood Bath and Beyond. LOL!!! The part where he is waiting for the waiting period to buy a gun is over is funny. He is just sitting there while the Target sign, Ned, a row of ducks, and Selma and Patty pass him by while The Waiting by Tom Petty is playing.

Best lines are Salesman -"Surely, you can't put a price on your family" and Homer's response, "I didn't think so either, but here we are." The lines from Bart and Lisa where they are having a race between their beds and they say, "C'mon smelly" and "C'mon stinky" are funny. Selma says, "We have a gentleman visitor" and the TV repairman says, "Hey! This TV is just unplugged!" and Selma closes the door quickly.

Actually, there are a lot of funny scenes in this episode. Too many to name.

BTW...Vote Quimby!!

I CALL THE BIG ONE "BITEY"

Best quote ever. Best episode ever. Not just of The Simpsons, but of anything on TV. EVER.

I always loved the Frank Grimes episode.

I always loved the Frank Grimes episode.

Yeah that one was an absolute classic. Shame they had to bring in Frank Grimes son in that rough patch for the Simpsons.

One that I thought of today was The Itchy and Scratchy Movie episode where Homer bans Bart from attending the movie of Itchy and Scratchy. I love the bit where everyone's queing to see the movie and the Flanders are amongst them?! Plus Homer thinking Earl Warren was a stripper...

Does anyone know when the new series is coming on?

I'm not sure but don't they start around October or something? Not sure because I've never had Sky 1.

This is a fantastic site to watch any Simpsons episode that has been broadcast.
