August 19, 200916 yr which one would you choose? these are my four best options: http://es.yamaha.com/es/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/digitalpianos/clp_330/?mode=overview http://es.yamaha.com/es/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/digitalpianos/cvp_405/?mode=overview http://www.kurzweilmusicsystems.com/Product.php?id=37 http://www.rolandiberia.com/es/catalogo/Roland_RD-300GX/O989/
August 19, 200916 yr If you have the money for it get one of the two models that are actual full pianos. They are tons better than little keyboards but way more expensive.
August 19, 200916 yr Author but, what about comfort? i'll mainly play near the computer, so what can i do? the keyboards are easier to carry here and there..
August 19, 200916 yr Author so it's a keyboard... i think i'm gonna get this one http://es.yamaha.com/es/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/digitalpianos/clp_330/?mode=overview
August 19, 200916 yr go with any of the Yamaha CLP series. they are very good! (i play a CLP-202 myself). also, they are not too expensive. forget about the keyboards. i'm not saying they are bad, but go ahead with one of the others
August 19, 200916 yr Author oh well, i've been advised of taking a yamaha too. but i think i'm gonna go with the roland keyboard...
August 20, 200916 yr I got a yamaha DGX 630 for my first. It has over 500 different sounds including different piano sounds and pretty mcuh any other instrument. So many great features about the Yamaha DGX 630 you should look into it.
August 20, 200916 yr I have the YPG 625, which I'm pretty sure is the exact same thing, just the american version...and it's simply amazing. It also may be cheaper than those first two yamaha's you posted.
August 20, 200916 yr Author well, everybody i've asked says i've got to go for a yamaha, so maybe i'll reconsider my first idea. Nick and Tnspieler, you own the same one..
August 20, 200916 yr I think a keyboard can't take the place of a piano. I wanna have a grand piano! :) What is the cost of CLP 330 ?
August 21, 200916 yr Go for one of the Yamaha. Ideally, scrap the digital options and go for an acoustic. I've been playing classically (and jazz) for over 12 years, and take it from me - acoustics are a world apart from digitals. I didn't look at your choices in-depth, but make sure you get decently weighted keys. Other than that - make sure you practice, and remember that you learn everything in steps. Just as you wouldn't approach special relativity before doing kinematics, you've got to climb your way up in piano as well. Theory is important, don't neglect it (as much as you want to play Coldplay, classical theory is important too :))
August 21, 200916 yr Weighting is really really important. Get a keyboard that is weighted really well otherwise it'll hinder you once you get upto advanced stuff.
August 21, 200916 yr Go with Kurzweil; that's what Chris Martin uses in the studio. He used a Kurzweil PC2 during the recording of Viva La Vida. They are discontinued but they're great sounding.
August 21, 200916 yr Author i'm not gonna go for an acoustic definitely. another option i have around is this: http://www.thomann.de/es/yamaha_p140.htm a yamaha p140, 2 years old. still undecided.. but thanks for the response! :nice:
August 22, 200916 yr that's ok too ;) but as much as some advice: do not go for a real acoustic! you must have a well temperatured room (steady temperature, not hot & cold changing). important is also that there is no floor heating! the room mustn't be too humid but also not too dry, and last but not least they need to be re-tuned every couple of months (3-4 i guess). (oh, not to forget: they are hell of a lot expensive!)
