COLDPLAY's Song # 5

Featured Replies

Have you noticed that the songs # 5 of every Coldplay album have been all a great success.....

I dont know, but I was just listening to my Coldplay albums as I always do, and I started to think.... Yellow, Clocks, Talk, Lovers In Japan... all of them have been hits, at least here in my city (Monterrey, Mexico)....

Yellow is like the Coldplay classic you should listen to.

Clocks is that song that everyone wants to have in their iPods.

Talk was a success, all the awards live performances of this song were amazing... And

Lovers In Japan is still being played in the local radio stations months after it was released!

Do you think next Coldplay's album song # 5 is also gonna be a hit???

I was just wondering, maybe it's just my imagination, hahaha Have a nice day :D!!!!

That's so funny! All of those are really big hits, except for Lovers in Japan, which is still a hit!

It is not that I like them all as my favorites, actually none of them is my favorite album's track...

But I think they're greatest hits :P, they're at least one of the three songs of each album which would be in a Greatest Hits album

I actually noticed this in 2007.

So I was hoping, praying, that the fifth song on the new album would be the biggest success!

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case... Viva and Violet Hill were still more successful than Lovers in Japan. But, oh well! At least the fifth was still a single! :nice:

They plan it that way when they're putting track listings together, I think.

Different bands and producers have different ways of arranging an album. Some put the big single as track 1, but coldplay will usually have an intro track. AROBTTH was front loaded with four consecutive singles. while X&Y was fast, slow, fast, slow etc. from square one (pun). Same pretty much with VLV, which alternated light, dark, light, dark throughout.

Thats very true. Gets me to wonder if 5 is the only # where the songs are all hits.

I rememberd in 7th grade Talk would play on the radio ALL THE TIME.

Never got sick of it.
