^the only reason why AROBTTH is my least favorite is b/c of Daylight and A Whisper... i have deep dislike for those songs... and i don't know why, I've never warmed up to them.

 

Am I the only one who likes those songs? Everyone always hates on them and I just love them so much. :heart:

I think X&Y is an ok album. I was rather disappointed about it at the beginning, because I expected something really really good after AROBTTH, but that's the issue with these high expectations....I am glad X&Y grew on me...esp. the hardest part and swallowed in the sea...

This is definitely one of the best Coldplay's song for me.

I just listened to it last year and thought 'why the fuck isn't this in any of their albums?'

The boys always complain of X&Y being a very long draggy album. I don't mind it at all to be honest. Put in this song and it will be perfect.

Viva is for those people who started loving them over the radio, because of "viva la Vida"...for those who are attending their shows and wear the a Viva t-shirt there....for those who do not really know the lyrics only "ooohooohooohoohooooohohoooooohhhhh"...for those who talk about Chris' private life with Gwyneth before the concert starts....it's probably just natural when it comes to the growth of a band:sick:

sure plenty of people are superficial fans from the viva era, but that doesnt mean people that were already legit fans cant like/love viva. it's just a different style of music.

 

and for everyone who says they wish they were still the "old coldplay", that's never going to happen. even if they boys tried, it wouldnt be like that. and i dont think they will try to do that anyways.

 

Well hey, there are a lot of amazing songs on X&Y. But it's just the album on itself, how the songs were arranged on it, that bothers some people.

 

i really dont understand how the order of the songs has made people dislike it.

seriously, who cares if it's from the same band? each ablum is a different genre IMO and people need to be able to appreciate the different genres.

and i know people are going to be like "what are you talking about i DO like different genres." uhuh, sure :dozey: just as long as the different genres dont come from the same band right?

and then people will say "i do like different genres, i just dont think coldplay can pull it off."

well that's too bad because they can, and do. and honestly im glad they change styles every album.

Not the "OMFG COME BACK OLD COLDPLAY".. I just think they focused on becoming more popular than on the music.

but i can definitely see how you would think that.

I know you love X&Y, Alexa, but I think they started (potentially unconsciously, I guess) moving toward the more mainstream pop sound with that album, and Viva La Vida was an effort to move into music they wanted to make more so than X&Y. I mean a lot of the songs on it are horrible but they made an effort on that album more, I think.

 

Then again it could just show they are getting bad, if they tried to make a "non-mainstream" album and ended up with something like VLV :P If that makes sense. I mean I think Viva is poppy, but they weren't necessarily trying to make it poppy on purpose.

Good point there. But still, I still think they worked with Eno, and did that awful crap to become.. liked, thing that didn't happend with X&Y.

i dont know, i love pretty much any type of music except country western/country rock.

so as long as they dont do that, i'm sure i'll be fine with the style they do next. and hey, i love all 4 albums, so im pretty sure i'll love the 5th.

I think I've actually started to hate VLV less recently. LiJ isn't as bad as I thought it was. :uhoh:

 

But I really don't like the title track. Except for the violins and cowbell :wacky: Those are really amazing.

Also, they're doing a song inspired thanks to Eminem's first album and a 2 part song that sounds a lot like Taylor Swift.
