of course i dont mean celebrating it with your detested relatives :D

I like Christmas, I just don't like the way our family celebrates it. What's the point in spending time together when you can't stand each other?

 

Don't celebrate with them then...it's not like you are contractually obliged.

 

I like and dislike Christmas at the same time.

i just LOVE everything about the christmas season... the music, the atmosphere at home and in the cities... lebkuchen, hot wine punch (are both german traditions, btw? :thinking: ) and of course the weather with hopefully lots of snow, heh.

 

i'm totally crazy about it, so by the time october arrives and it's finally getting colder outside, my "christmas mood" is kicking in :laugh3: yeah i know, a bit early... :rolleyes:

 

my mum and i love decorating our house - not in a cheesy kind of way, tho ;D it always looks and feels great.

I don't get that. I dunno, I just find it sorta cruel to tell your kids he's not real. Why ruin all their fun? You don't need to give them tons of gifts.

 

I grew out of it by 5th grade, even though alot of people told me he wasn't real I just refused to believe them until I found the same wrapping paper santa used in my mom's closet. :(

i remember my parents always told my brother and me to go into our rooms, because santa would arrive soon... lol. it's strange that we never really tried to find out if he would be really there ;D at least i can't remember that we tried.

The year my mother had finally convinced my brother and me that there was no Santa, a Santa drove by us in a red car. My mother wasn't too happy about that ...
