i've always liked dido and i'm really looking forward to hear new album.

@ Byron369 i think 'the man who' is travis' best album. :nice:

Dido! :)

Didn't know that there was a thread. Glad to know that there's a new cd on the way- it's been long enough.

One thing Dido most definitely isn't is "manufactured". She has a very original style, writes most of her songs, is multi-talented and classically trained, and above all, is very down-to-earth and un-showbizzy. When was the last time you saw her flaunting herself in a paper or magazine?

What's more, she's excellent live....................................

Agreed- I think some people get the impression it's manufactured because her brother Rollo is so involved in it, and he's a producer. But they actually do their own songwriting. It's just the stupid label that promotes the stuff to death, stripping it of any indie credibility.

What I love about her songs is the way she can tell entire stories in just a couple of lines. Try it sometime- it's hard to do well. So many of the 'cool' people are so obsessed with sounding artistic that they've forgotten how powerful a tool some good clear oldfashioned storytelling can be.

Yeah, that too... heh now I'm actually digging some of her stuff out for the first time in I don't know how long. Always fun to hear something after a long break.

*sings* "Dear Isobel I hope you're well..."

 :stunned: You know, I'd never really thought about that.

I guess it makes sense... I NEVER listen to the lyrics, and it usually doesn't matter. But I always listen to Dido's lyrics.

Huh. :blank:

Thank you on the suggestion, but this morning...as I went to buy a CD they had only one.

So I bought "12 Memoirs"..didn't listen it yet, though.

Well, mc_squared, I have that remix, deep dish remixes of Stoned & Thankyou, Here With Me (Enya remix) and Hunter.

*You're all welcome :nice:*

I didn't know there was a Dido thread too...

I like her too!

That's right, her voice is beautiful, it's not a common voice at all!

I've only her first album No Angel... but I like all the songs of that album

Oh...wow ...didn't know there are so many Dido fans here

Do you know what's Dido's full name?

*with a little help of real player...*

Dido Florian Cloud de Bounevialle Armstrong

^Woah, really? sounds a bit french:P

Well, Dido's mum's French!

Dad's Irish...

And she supports Arsenal, and she and Rollo grew up without TV in the house....................;)

Must admit, the more I hear her voice, the more painful it is.

Overused head register to falsetto switch singing. Last songs I heard from her were simply sickening.

But hey, that's just me.

No point having 3 threads on Dido (where I think even having 1 is too many).
