Like many others have said...I really do LOVE them!

Btw, that video is amazing. I lol'd so hard the first time I heard "wait... Icy One Act... isn't that just another name for COLDPLAY???"

Lol, I am naming my baby Icy One Act :D

And

Im glad you guys like them, I just gotta get my fangirlism back :P

^you don't like that song [in My Place]?

It brings 'em down. It's just way too pop-y and flamboyant and it didn't really fit ROBTTH.

Although when I saw them live in cincinatti this past summer it was one of my favorite songs of the night.

no, i actually love them.

i dont think that to love someone/something, you have to agree with everything they do. nobody's perfect, and i think a lot of coldplays' faults just make them more ineresting and.. loveable! :nice:

EDIT: Their faults, like Chris's sort of adorable stammering, Will's...Willness, Jonny looking drunk in pictures, and Guy's hair right now.

Love their music. Love how they carry themselves. Love how they're not the stereotypical rock band. I can say I go through phases when I really really love them and the ones where I'm just, "eh". But overall, they're my favorite band, and I love them.

^ Like what faults?

how chris is still so self-degrading, mostly. i REALLY like that he's modest, but he should stop saying how crap they are. it gets old, and almost seems planned and fake, you know?

I do love them.

I'd recommend a Coldplay Break.

I took it, and it made me get into some other bands that I hadn't really tried to listen before, Muse for example, I love Muse's music too, but Coldplay means more to me.

Is my life, along with Harry Potter. :wacky:

No, I hate them. I signed up for a Coldplay forum just so I could take a piss and troll and talk about GOOD bands like Muse and U2.

All joking aside, I can be critical of some of their pieces, but I think that makes me appreciate their better works that much more. Even from what I've seen of the band outside their music - mainly from interviews and articles - they strike me as righteous fellows with great personalities and senses of humor. I proudly love Coldplay, and not in a superficial sense. :)

The first part made me lol. :P

I agree with everything you said there.

Coldplay are just insanely nice people who make amazing music and are the most charitable, friendly, loving, fan-centric, symphonic, bombastic, emotional, sexy, and fabulous foursome on the planet, and the most wonderfully charismatic band since Queen.

 Agreed!

I mean, like everything about them.

I can honestly say, I don't. (Most likely because I don't know anyt personal things about them) But I mean, some people say they love them, but you don't really know them. I don't even know where I am going with this. I don't even know what I mean.

Does anyone understand?

I think I have finally lost it....

oh my word....

I am losing my fan-girlism :disappointed:

Thanks guys.

I dont need a Coldplay break, already just had one.

I think I am just losing the, "I want to marry them" factor and the, "omg, they are so smexy" factor.

I LOVE their music, they are my favourite band and they are pretty good looking. But I just don't think I am a fan girl anymore, its pretty hard typing this with 3 coldplay posters starring me down :disappointed:

I think I get what you're saying. What we love, in a fangirlish sort of way is the image of them that's projected to the public rather than the guys themselves. Because even the most earnest and open performer still needs to project something in order for fans to connect to them, and really to protect themselves in a way.

It's like that clip of Chris from The Hour where the camera caught him for just a moment where he wasn't "on" and I remember it freaked a lot of people around here out to see him like that: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gG3kELXj30E]YouTube - Coldplay Exclusive - The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos[/ame]

And now you're starting to see the image for the image and it's freaking you out a little bit. Welcome to the wonderful world of growing up. Congratulations. Many (if not most) adults never even make it to that point.

Me, I love most of their music dearly, and I think that unlike most "celebrities" they're people I would genuinely like if I got to know them in real life as people. But I also know I'm basing that impression on the image, and I've had to come to terms with that as a fan. It's all good.

I'd have to say I love Coldplay.

From everything everyone else said on here, but also much more.

I love them because not only do they make music but to them its an art-form. From the costumes, to the cover-art, all incorporated into the songs they produce. Their image for each album tells the story of that said album. As a director is to movies, where you can tell its his/her movie, so Coldplay is to music, so they can be called Auteurs! They create art in all all senses, including emotion.

They don't just have a cover for an album, it has a meaning, they don't just choose to wear soldiers reproductions or all black during periods, it has a meaning. They are constantly changing their image, but along with that everything they put out. They put thought into what represents them. From their words, why they shy away from interviews, to what they say about their personal life, to what they change in the future from things they've said in the past. Most of their responses are ones of charity, solace, respect and humbleness, as well as ethereal and middle of the line. One can't often pinpoint something Coldplay believes unless it means something great to them. This is a great quality because then Coldplay can be anything to anyone, and not something they told ppl to believe in in an interview.

haha just my opinion!

Artis gratis Artis! :D

Thank you! You understand! You have to be like one of the only people

I totally understand what you are saying. I dont even know if I said it right, but I am glad you got it. Its like I am starting to see the, "real" Coldplay, if thats even what I want to say. Oh my I am growing up, this is so weird :uhoh:

Haha, I just never thought I would see Coldplay the way I do now, its so weird.

To tell you the truth it actually hit my while watching Live 2003 :laugh3:

I love Coldplay. I don't need to meet them to know they are nice guys. Their actions speak volumes when it comes to the devotion to their fans. They give out free music, free music videos, do contests, upgrade fans at their concerts, go to the nose-bleed section and sing, and of the people who have met them on here have nothing but positive things to say about them...so yeah, I love Coldplay.

Now here's the brilliant important thing about that.

If Coldplay, who you love so much, can ultimately be an image or a shell or mask or projection or something, how much more so the things out there that you just take for granted? The models in the magazines, or politicians on tv? The actors you envy or drool over? The girl at school or work who always seems so perfect but actually has a lot of crap going on in her life that you don't know about?

Coldplay are trying to be themselves as far as I can tell. Those magazines, they aren't. Sure you see a perfect image and want to look just like it, but that photo won't show you the hundreds of bobby pins on the back of her head pulling most of her hair back so that it looks perfect from that one camera angle, and it certainly won't show you all of the photoshopping that happened afterward.

And when you can realize that, when you can see all the fragile humanity behind all of the masks and not judge yourself based on them? Then you will be free. Free from all of the crap this entire culture is so obsessed with. :flutterby:

I am actually starting to get it. You make me think, thats a very good thing. I understand what you are saying. But now it kind of seems like all the fun is over, I feel like I have no imagination anymore

Heh... I met Chris back in 2006. Yes he was gorgeous and one of the nicest people I've ever met- very patient with us silly fans.

But the main thing I noticed was how insanely thin he was. I couldn't get over it. That's what I think she's getting at. You see an ad on a bus for a local radio station and there's a great big Chris on it with a bunch of other musicians, and you don't get that sense of humanity the way you do when a person is standing nearby.

Where did you meet him? I'm seeing him tomorrow and want to maybe try to get a pic. I have always thought he was thin anyways and he seems quite tall as well.

Halifax Metro Centre at the back door when he was coming out of soundcheck for the Juno awards. I was the idiot all exhausted from the previous night's Broken Social Scene concert or I would have made it sooner and met the other guys too, but I just missed them. It was a cool moment: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1498388&postcount=130 and http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27342&highlight=juno&page=14 If you want to know more.

Or it's only the beginning...

I'm coming at it like a writer, but when I started to figure that stuff out was when I finally started to figure out how to make characters more than cardboard cutouts. It's done wonders for my imagination. Maybe you just need a different subject?

Thanks! That's so awesome. I don't know what I would say if I met him haha. You are very, very lucky!

Heh... I knew exactly what I wanted to say but I was still too chicken to say it.

"That album you just signed completely changed my life."

But how do you say something like that without choking up or sounding like you're exaggerating?
