So I need people from EU states to help me with something!

I have to write a paper about "Lisbon treaty" and I would like you to tell me what you think about it. Did your governments actually explain what it is or you just went to referendum and voted whatever. Also I would love your opinion is it good or bad, will it change anything...

It would really helped me with my paper.

Tnx! :D :D :D

about Spain:

we had the referendum, and both main parties just asked for "yes" option, government didn't care to explain what it consisted on (the treaty itself and how it would affect our country), nor did the opposition parties. (btw most voted option here was NOT, and politicians wanted to ignore it, althought it stopped the project for a while in Europe).

press offered a copy of the treaty for free in a sunday paper, we got it and my dad still keep it, he read it completelly as i did.

if i remember well, that treaty means the change in how some things will be done, as the economic, investments and stuff, in which Spain will lose place, (which is normal as there are other countries), but we won't be count in other ways (as population, or elderly).

funny thing was the treat said in which territories the EU was compossed and said them all, Spain just had Spain (i mean it for instance considered the boarding states that are part of France or UK), but that said our national constitution don't explain in which territories does our country consist on.

If i remember well some "controversial" point were to be changed, as to include the mention of Christianity in the development of Europe, i don't know how it is now.

you refer to that treaty right?

more questions about it?

Well Ireland voted no, and the The mighty EU people came and told them "to get it right"... If EU is a democratic union that everything is said with what they said to Ireland. I dont understand. One day Ill have to vote for EU or against it. And Im still very confused what to vote. From this I would vote no, but then again... Oh its very confusing.

the EU Parliament about the Lisbon treaty is not so democratic, all they want is people to vote yes, we have the power and the right to vote yes or not, if most people vote no in a country, they should check what can be wrong in that treat and so why people voted no, instead of keeping to force people to vote Yes.

their attitude is no democratic, and like a way to not work.

I know, stupid isn't it.

yes, although if you ask me i think our country is stupider now, at least back then we got info about Europe, now we have no info :wtf: when current president said he would bring us more to Europe than ever :dozey:

(sorry antonia that is a bit off topic).

btw anybody knows how the Lisbon treaty is now, suffered any changes on it's text, will be voted again?
