In a story that’s being picked up widely elsewhere, the Daily Mail has “Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin set to spend time apart.”

 

“It’s been a rocky few months for career-driven stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin – and things don’t look set to improve in the new year,” begins the article which insinuates things have been difficult for them after reports surfaced that the Coldplay front

 

well, they can't be together all the time considering the 2 of them travel a lot and their kids are at school, it's not a big deal. And consider the sources too :P

Well, Gwyneth is set to start working on a new movie, The Danish Girl with Nicole Kidman, in January - maybe they're running with that in yet another attempt to predict the breakup of C&G.

Uh, yeah... like I was saying in another thread, original sources are important in a story like this. The original story was indeed from the Daily Mail. They basically listed the tiny handful of things she had on the go for the next six months or so (8 or 9 weeks work broken up over many months- that's what? 2 months out of 6?!) and wondered if it might mean they wouldn't be able to spend every waking minute together. :freak:

 

It's no different than how they normally arrange things. She usually takes roles with shorter shooting schedules and then Chris sometimes arranges touring and studio time around them. Sometimes they rent a place where she's staying so he can be there looking after the kids while she's at work. They have it a million times easier in that respect than most normal working couples who have to take opposite shifts because they can't afford child care and then really never spend time with each other except when they're both asleep.

 

Of course the lowest denominator gossip blogs jump all over it and warp the speculation into facts. Nothing sells like bad news and something about a happy successful blond couple really gets under their skin.

 

And for the record, the mail really wants to be a serious newspaper, but it also really wants to be a tabloid, so we usually get the worst, most pandering aspects of both. :sick2:

And oh yeah, it's run by men who seem to think a women's place is pregnant and in the kitchen, rather than in the public eye or displaying independent thought. So it makes sense that they would have an issue with the idea of Gwyneth oh goodness no, working. At her job.

tsk...inaccurate reporting. for one thing, the wrong thing was highlighted as the headline & opening summary. & the gist of why they have to spend time apart was.......misconstrued....for lack of a better word. :thinking:

they'd be "apart" anyway, silly news.

They will definitely break up! No doubt. They are just biding their time because Gwyneth cannot stand the fact that she will have lost Chris to Kate Bosworth. Not that Kate will get him but Kate was the final catalyst to send the marriage over the cliff. And something most definitely was going on or is still going on between Kate and Chris(even if it is just an emotional connection at this point). She will make sure they stay married for some time longer and then announce their split. Doing it now so close to the Kate Bosworth revelations will show that it was true. It is humiliating for her that her “friend” ruined her marriage and her husband wants Kate and not her. So sad but come on this is Hollywood. It’s not like they are not prepared for this. From what I have heard Chris is wanting to create “something” with Kate in the future but doing it right now will prove that he is a cheater. This should be interesting to watch.
