What have I learnt as a Coldplayer in the past year?

Featured Replies

Well today is exactly ONE year since I joined this forum! One year, I know!

1 - There are A LOT of fangirls who scream over Chris, Guy, Jonny and Will. And I mean A LOT! I could name them, but by time I've finished, my bus pass would be many years old.

2 - That this place is an excellent source for some downloadable b sides I haven't bought of iTunes....seriously I buy them on iTunes. Yep, I'm a money wasting wimp.

3 - Do not post badly (and I mean baldly) written threads about why you hate Radiohead. Ends up with you having no testicles.

4 - How much effort do I need to put in to notify that I want to talk about U2?

5 - It takes nous to come up with a thread that on The Lounge which means absolutely sweet FA and still get over 1000 pages. I respect that, I respect that a lot!

6 - Certain individuals go relatively unnoticed (well from what I've seen on this board) and that is the amazing work of such members like rafa89 and jc90 on the Coldplaying Multimedia in providing some of us with mp3's of bootlegs/b-sides and and live material for all of us to enjoy. I'm sure there are more but those are the two names I know of most and I can't thank them more enough. I can't thank those guys enough.

7 - Coldplaying is addictive....very addictive. I joined facebook only a couple of months ago and that got boring after a week. This on the other hand....

8 - Smileys should only be used sparingly.

9 - I look at other people's avatars and signatures, and even though I know most of them are designed brilliantly by the user themselves, I still think my ones are better.

10 - Coldplaying is a brilliantly run website, the which I have never encountered before and long may it continue like that.

this one just makes it in, in fact just in the past week and I have to say this because

11 - Never EVER get into any fights on here again. I openly admit to have gotten into stupid, petty arguments, said some utterly stupid things at times as have other members. I freely admit this, but we have to be honest. Ultimately, it's an internet forum and one which I have found deserves the respect of us members by not getting involved in 'fights'. It'll mean less drama which some might not want (because we all like a bit of drama don't we?), but in the end it saves the needless hassle that the moderators and Ian have to attend to. They have their work cut out already - let's not make it any harder for them. Let's show them some respect. No one has to be friends with ANYONE, but nobody should be enemies with one another. Come on - let's make it happen.

What I've learnt from reading this thread is that we don't really learn much from this do we?

Fights are the best thing about the forum.

You can have arguments Nathan, but fights? Especially the desperate state of affairs some fights have been lately? It's tiring.

To be honest I stopped reading after No. 4. People still want to talk about U2?

Yep. They are living rock legends!

Legends should be dead, at least we agree on something.

1. This was to be expected. :P

2. That it is. I owe lots of people big time for B-Sides, Lore in particular.

3. The concept of Coldplaying being so much like a Radiohead forum is something I doubt I'll ever comprehend.

4. Hmmm.

5. It seems to be a common thing around here.

6. That's absolutely right.

7. Yes, it can be.

8. I disagree. But then again, I like smileys a lot, so who knows?

9. I wish I could say I did mine.

10. I like to think so as well.

11. BEST POINT EVER. +100000

The most extreme reactions result in the most decisive resolutions, so stop being scared of getting into a 'fight'.

Fights are the best thing about the forum.

THIS

To pull out.

Did the bread come out in any of those situations?

Someone has to play his part, he ain't here no more.

In the real world maybe, but on internet forums? Come on.

Internet forums are a part of the real world.

From meeting the few people that I have known on forums, its amazing how similar they can be to their on-screen 'persona' in subtle ways.
