I would know.. because my friend Breanna went from straight to bi to straight..

you can be born on the opposite sex's side, but that doesn't mean you have to get in bed with or date the same sex

I'm not saying culture has nothing at all to do with sexuality but when it comes down to it you don't seriously fucking choose your sexual preference -- either you're a dude exposed to more estrogen in the uterus or you're a chick exposed to more testosterone , is the condensed version. I don't think it's as simple as you are making it out to be, lack of testosterone is not the cause of homosexuality.

There isn't even conclusive evidence for what causes it though, so any extensive and technical explanation would just still be speculation.

Well, yeah... but hormones as the child's developing are basically pretty solidly considered to be major components of homosexuality right now. :confused:

Um, what exactly is your point here? that homosexuals carry more HIV/AIDS in Africa so it is a logical reason to kill them there? Just for your information, heterosexuals transmit the majority of HIV/AIDS cases in Africa. HIV/AIDS is not a gay disease.

Thus I used an example to illustrate how practices like "kill the diseased" were used and openly accepted in ye olden times, and these practices are nothing new, merely now they are kept hush-hush. Yeah it's disturbing that this stuff was done but it was and everyone thought it was okay, now our attitudes have shifted but not everyone's.

 

I'm amused you think I am homophobic for this reply though, I haven't said a thing endorsing or supporting this stuff. In fact it's a very wrong thing to do, and not to mention counter-productive... if I am so hateful, why do I hang out with the gay? Why do I date someone who is bi? Why do I sometimes question my sexuality sometimes? You should really stop being so judgmental, I know my post sounded bad but that wasn't the intent. I have no problem with anyone who is gay or bi.

Cobalt, I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me. I am glad to know that it was not your intent for your post to come across the way it did. Many other people thought it was an insensitive post too. I get really sensitive about topics of this nature so I can get really defensive. I don't think you are homophobic and it sounds like you are a very open and understanding person. I apologize if I upset you.

Yeah I kinda was pretty offended... but I tend to word things wrongly a lot of the time, real life too. I s'pose it was just the wrong topic to be all "insert historical example here"
