Are you a doctor?

Oh we don't have semesters here :uhoh: I'm only in the second year of med studies

i made a degree in alternative medicine, so in a way yes.

ah, second year. if you think about the skull' s anatomy and physiological mechanisms, there is no way that blood could leak from the brain to the mouth. (unless that dude has had some severe problems beforehand. :P)

get 'emergency room' on dvd. it's fabulous to learn med with that series. oho, dr. greene ( with the glasses, my favourite) and carter ( the sensitive med- student later to become a doctor).

Yes, a brain scanner! What's wrong with that

Oh cool! What's exactly alternative medecine?

I know that^^ But I don't think anyone talked about mouth right? :uhoh:

Awww I love this show! I watched it since maybe 8years, and this is one of the reasons why I wanted to become a doctor :wacky:

Too bad it's over now...

Yes, a brain scanner! What's wrong with that

because the cause is abdominal or pectoral. ct scan, yes, which is prolly what you meant anyway.

traditional chinese medicine/ acupuncture and homoeopathy were the 'alternative' fields i specialised in.

oh we did, the neat monster said the patient was VOMITING blood. You do vomit out of your mouth, non? :uhoh:

:)

Welcome :nice:

I go 4 years to school, 1 year of internship in a hospital and another of social service.

Then I go for my professional exam.

Later I'll specialize, but I've got enough time to decide about what specialty I want :nice:

You don't really realize it's your thing until you've been in medschool for a while. That's my guess, you need to experience it for real.

So, you go directly into med school from the schooling system? I wanted it to be that way since I was always so sure of what I wanted to do.

What you say about not really knowing that medicine is your thing until med school is definitely true, though it would suck to realize that medicine is not your thing when you've already spent thousands on applications, interviews and even more (loans!) on fees for school.

It also depends on the school. There's this school in some other city that requires a 6 month pre-med course, if you don't pass it, you can't go to medschool.

My college didn't ask for that, so lucky me :)

I think the first semester is the most important stage to define it. It's the first, you get to reality and see that you have to work hard every day, and if you can't deal with it, you definitely won't be able to handle the next, which are far worse.

Also, many leave cause they don't want to handle the pressure, or don't want to sacrifice so much, like I wanted last week.

Thank God I was being delusional and kept going. I love this.

AH LOL BTW, I was a volunteer today in my biochemistry class :awesome: Someone got some of my blood :nice: But hurt me :mean: Anyway, it was so cool :D and I didn't feel dizzy

Today I learned that sigmoid colon cancer can make you vomit feces :uhoh:

The doctor that teaches anatomy is a surgeon :nice: Knows lots of abdominal crap.

Interesting. :) I haven't heard of many people dropping out of med school here (maybe its because they're older and know what they want?). But, it's great that you stuck with it, especially since you love it. :D

Well, school is going well so far.. no complains, maybe just preventive medicine, it's a big fat joke, and the shit doctor thinks we're stupid.

I guess that's the only reason I'm in a "nice" mood.

^This :nice:

But don't worry, I still have at least 7 more years to go :dead:
