Do smileys accurately portray what theyre supposed to?

What a title! :wreck:

Ahh the wreck smiley, used to convey a sense of panic or overwhelment, perfectly pulled off.

One of my favourite smileys is:

The thinking smiley, as much as I like it, its more for looking doubtfully at the poster(s) above my post, not really about thinking.

This:

How sinister is that? It says hes mellow, who the fuck thinks thats mellow? Some god damn creep, thats who.

On a more positive note: :egypt:

The Egypt smiley completely sums up everything about being Egyptian in the 21st century, Im sure it really stirs a sense of national pride among all Egyptians. The same as :chinese: is to Chinese people, and not at all racist.

The whatever smiley kinda does, but yeah it should just be :******:

This one doesn't ----> :whatever:

Depends on the context of the message :laugh4:

who does that hand action when saying whatever?

I like this one :borg:

it depicts exactly how i feel

I like the :chinese: smiley! I'm probably the only one that uses it though :nice:

I never understood what the deal was with the whatever smiley, and then I learned what it was doing... but it still has nothing to do with the word "whatever."

And whenever I use that smiley to mean "whatever," people think I'm using it to mean "wank." :disappointed:

:wacky: does a terrible job of looking wacky

:wtf: <--- I like this one... it's pretty accurate.

:drunkjoe: ................ wtf is this?

I love :vanish:, agreed about :wreck:!!

:uhoh: and :uhoh2: are pretty good, too!!

:drunkjoe: ................ wtf is this?
Angie did it and it is Drunk Joe!! Drunk version of :sneakyjoe:
we need a

D:

smiley.

:laugh4: I used " D: " way to often.

What about :bigcry: instead?

Did you solve your protected files problem now?

Crying can seem a bit over dramatic :laugh4:

And no luck with the music.

I couldn't find a blank cd.

Hahaha OK

I wasn't sure if it had a story behind it, or if it had just randomly appeared :dizzy:

Actually.... is it meant to be Joe Satriani!? :laugh3:

Haha, no, it's Jsalyers.

The girls in C&C made fun saying that he looks exactly like the :sneaky: smiley but with hair.

So this is how :sneakyjoe: was created.

:drunkjoe: was the logical consequence

C&C? Jsaylers? The girls? :wtf:

You know stuff

Pseudonyms Sue seems to know everything!:P:scholar:

Some of the smileys can have more than one meaning - it's all in the eye of the beholder. This one: :awesome: always makes me think of the fish in the fish tank, waiting for the food from the food shaker to land on the water's surface!:laugh3::mudkip:

:shifty: does not only portray of being devious,

it can also portray other things

:dozey: is extremely useful for expressing multiple things, but its use rarely coincides with the name 'dozey'.
