it doesnt have to sound like them but any alternative song or band that sounds like alternative+rock so anyhting like that it doesnt have to be like those bands Briggins

Yeah they're great. For songs I would check out Golden Age, Dancing Choose, Wolf Like Me, Staring at the Sun.

 

Maybe give Interpol a shot too? Their album Turn On The Bright Lights is genius.

Yeah ive heard interpol from my sister but i dont get them but i guess i better should and the strokes also but irellay dont get their style yet but i know ill try atleast

I love indie, alternative and experimental music. I'm gonna recommend a band called The Maccabees (who are my joint-first favourite band ever. They're up there with Coldplay. Haha)

First off, I don't believe in labels. I am on record as saying that many times. BUT if I did, I would categorize most of these recommendations as Indie, not alternative. When I think of alternative music, I think of stuff ranging from the Smiths/Pixies/R.E.M. to Pearl Jam/Radiohead/Smashing Pumpkins.

Well I agree that some songs in the thread are indie more than alternative. But some of the artists mentionned in this thread are too popular to be called indie, so we call them alternative.

I don't agree with the indie terms...you obviously haven't seen the indie kids at my school :P
