***Sigur Ros Taking Indefinite Break***

Featured Replies

Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck :(

They said in the summer that they were working on a new album, I can't believe they're just giving up on that one...

Why can't he just work with his solo project and Sigur Ros at the same time? If Thom Yorke can do it he can do it....

WHAT. :disappointed:

Jonsi got his own solo career now and a side project with his boyfriend.

He can live without his bandmates i guess..

He's definitely taking a step in the wrong direction...

I find it a little weird that they are just giving up on the new record

SAY WHAT????!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :bigcry: :bigcry:

NO!!!!! >:(

I've been listening to Sigur Ros before I go to sleep each night...BUT I WILL GET BORED OF THEIR PREVIOUS SONGS. I WANT NEW ONES :bigcry:

Now I regret not seeing them live when I had the chance even more. :disappointed:

dammit.

dammit.

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck :bigcry:

I was really concerned when we started getting previews of Jonsi's "Go" album, right after they released Riceboy Sleeps. Is it made it pretty obvious Jonsi hasn't been focusing on sigur ros at all.

But obviously they're gonna be back and touring within the next couple years, they're too ambitious and know it would be criminal to deprive their fans of more music and touring.

Yeah I wouldn't be too too worried about an indefinite break. At least individually we'll still be getting new material.

this from NME

"We haven't got another [sigur Ros] album ready - It was just a rumour," Birgisson told SpinnerMusic.co.uk. "We started to record something, but then we chucked it all away. So I think we are going to have to start it all again."

so it seems that perhaps they aren't breaking up.

honestly i feel that all bands should take a period (1-3 years) where they go on their own paths... i mean u see bands like the beatles that spent so much time together that after a few years they were sick of eachother

They're last album was uninspired, it might be for the best.
