Basicly because I don't wanna be stuck there for the rest of my life and also because I don't earn enough.

Thanks

Yes, but I've been earning much too few, and I'll be working on my thesis from next month and on, I need a better income, because I know working on a thesis implies spending some money, and I am willing to work and I know I can handle both (working on my thesis and doing my job) but not under this circumstances.

I quit a job a few years back. I was getting more and more unhappy each week then they finally pushed me over the edge by denying my vacation and not even bothering to tell me. They just released the new work schedule and didn't bother to tell me, like I wouldn't notice or something. The vacation had been approved 6 months prior and I had already paid for my trip. When I confronted my manager, he said, "yeah, sorry I can't give you the time off, we'll be too short". He had 6 months to find someone to work the 4 shifts I would be gone. :dozey: The schedule came out 2 weeks before the work period started. I sat down right in front of him and typed out my resignation letter, printed it out, signed it and told him good thing it came it 2 weeks in advance so I could give him 2 weeks notice. Best thing I have ever done. I took 3 months off and came to realize how stressed out and exhausted I really was. I didn't have another job lined up, nor did I care. I just knew I had to leave.

And on top of not earning enough, a co-worker who's like 60 years old and comes to the office like twice a month called me to my cell phone the other day, he was drunk and started telling me I'm pretty and flirting I hung up, and I told both my boss and my supervisor, what they did? they "talked to him" and told him that was unappropiate, and told me I'd never have direct contact with him again.

What happened on friday? He got to the office and sat in front of me pretending nothing had happened, what did my supervisor and my boss did? Nothing. I had to move to some other part of the office while he was there so I wouldn't see his face.

Thesis comes first.

Yes.

Go for it Carla, being in a bad place that you feel uncomfortable in isn't healthy. Focus and finish your thesis, and go to graduate school if you can. You will be successful, don't worry too much.

Stars, why reach for them, when you are already one?

Rishi, you've just made my day, thanks so much.

Not a problem.

I don't know what advise would l give you but all I can say is; the fact you have chosen your thesis, you definitely made the right decision. There will be better opportunities for you in the future (I do hope I'm right!). Goodluck :cheesy:

Sounds like you're doing the best thing for you, so congrats. Don't worry about how the resignation will go. You don't have to go back to work to deal with their reaction anyway, so... no need to feel uncomfortable. Make yourself happy, this is the only life you get.

I'll start doing it from tomorrow and on.

There. That's awesome.

Oh no, someone else is flirting with my wife :bigcry:
