Hey everyone..i would just like to say that i love the song politik, it is my fave by coldplay, and i was wondering if anyone else felt the same way. the instumental is so amazing, its fabulous :P

Personally it's one of my least favourties...but I do like the bit at the end when he sings "and give me love over this"..that's cool.

Julia, you're right... the end of the song trully stands out. I mean, when you hear it on the grammy version... damn, it even scares me, cos it's so freaking beautiful...

Actually, politik is one of my fav songs. Really good to hear on maximum volume, headbanging and hitting an air piano. :o  :D

I love the song...It's a great song to start a concert to :D

The lyrics are good but the song itself is to rough, especially Will's part, he just keeps banging on the drums :P If the just adjusted that a bit to more Coldplay-style, then... Then it would be great.

Don't get me wrong, the lyrics are good the music is good, just a bit to rough.

actually I like the drums :D and I bet he loves playing it

haha yeah, politik drums are the best.

It's interesting to see how complex and simple this song is at the same time. i mean... the piano is like... two chords through the whole song... the drums... just banging em really hard, like just hitting the plates (sorry, i don't know anything about drums, but i guess you know what i'm talking about. lol) and the bass.. i can assure you, it's quite simple too. So... you put all these lil simple things together and boom! you have a complex, beautiful song.

Did that make sense at all?  :D

Altho i've said this many times b4, but i'm gonna say it again  :P Politik is the greatest song on Rush Of Blood. Cant get enuff of its ending!! :)

Does anyone know what the song is about? im not relly sure myself

I think it has something to do with that ceveral politiks shouldn't rip off their own people, by giving them unfair trades.

I think there's some piece about this in the little booky you inside the AROBTTH CD.

Its a brilliant song, a real example of a song that really progresses in stages until it reaches a resolution. Such emotion gets bashed into it, and yeah I really like the rough edges about it. :)

As to what it all means... I guess its about opening our eyes to what is happening, and sorta almost praying for a solution to it all. I guess you can interpret the last refrain 'give me love over this' in two ways ... either Chris wants love personally to come and make the worlds politics and problems seem insignificant for him, or for love to be a force that makes the problems solvable.

Anyway its a great song :D :D

i don't hear any of these "rough edges"

rush of blood is definitely a super-polished, glossy, major-label album.

you want rough edges, go buy a pavement album. :P

but yeah i agree, great song. :D

YES ... this is also my favourite Coldplay-track. The song ist almost perfect- full of power and also full of beauty. I really like how the mood in the song is changing again and again (especially before "but give me love over this")

no dont get me wrong great production and beautiful musicianship ... I guess rough edges is the wrong word, its very agressive and direct, very in your face, and still carries so much of the intensity of the emotion...

...gosh that sentence I just wrote sounds so pretintious it could have come out of Q magazine!!!

perhaps its better to say the song is fucking good hey ;)

this is a great song. Am I wrong to say that Politik is a poignant song? Don't think so.

one of coldplays best songs.. its amazing and its a great opener :)

This song is one of the best, it has been described as hypnotic.

The lyrics are good but the song itself is to rough, especially Will's part, he just keeps banging on the drums If the just adjusted that a bit to more Coldplay-style, then... Then it would be great.

Don't get me wrong, the lyrics are good the music is good, just a bit to rough.

they were trying to make it rough

The "give me love over this" part is also my favourite. His voice sounds so freakin' beautiful it's insane! :)

i love the whole song.....but the begining and endings stand out big time....like everyone says FREAKIN BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

i almost can't handle the ending... i associate it with a specific even in the past which is very important to me, and even more importantly, a place. :embarrased:

^Wow! This was really amazing!!
