Reilly
I'm only watching owing to the resurgence of "The Legend".;) Your legend would'nt have won 6 WC's if his career had started this decade, is that the ONLY reason you're watching? I'd love to see him go on past Higgins (even though he's another favourite player) though, it's great to see. Also it puts a bit of a question onto John Parrot,as to why he's retired being 7 years younger then Nugget. Martin Gould currently 7-3 up against Robertson, quite a story this would be. mc_squared
Your legend would'nt have won 6 WC's if his career had started this decade, You could say that about any of the past greats, and probably in any sport too. Still doesn't diminish his achievement.;) is that the ONLY reason you're watching? I'd love to see him go on past Higgins (even though he's another favourite player) though, it's great to see. Also it puts a bit of a question onto John Parrot,as to why he's retired being 7 years younger then Nugget. Probably because he's less talented and ambitious, and hasn't "looked after himself" as well would be my guess.
busybeeburns
I've been watching since day 1, but didn't think anyone else was so didn't make a thread! Gould is a revelation to the tournament, would love to see Steve Davis play him in the Q/F! Robertson needs a break of 63 like the one I made on Sunday :smug:
Reilly
You've made a break of 63?! :shocked2: Respec. My PB is 50-something. It's great to see Gould doing so well but Robertson is one of those players that can hit unbelievable form, like Selby, Murphy, once guys like that get into full flow they are so enjoyable to watch and even Higgins and O'Sullivan can't mow over them (Because as soon as you leave an open red for Robertson in top form, he'll do a trademark long pot and get an 80 break). I'd prefer seeing Robertson go on and possibly get into his stride, but it's still fun seeing Gould competing.
busybeeburns
stopped playing regularly about 6 years ago when I moved, Sunday was the first time I'd played in about 3 months so was happy with said break. had a couple of 80 breaks in practice in the past, nothing better than that, and an exhibition win over Ian McCulloch about 10 years ago. all with a toyshop cue stephen bought for my birthday for about 15 quid! I love the game but its a shame I don't play it as much now :(
busybeeburns
but it's still fun seeing Gould competing.9-4 up now, just racked up another frame!
Jenjie
I'm not watching, I'd rather watch paint dry  but it keeps Ian entertained so it can't be all bad :D

Reilly
Yes, I think snooker will never be a ladies thing. :\ 10-4?! I'm not watching it ATM (unfortunately) but it sounds like Robertsons fallen apart. stopped playing regularly about 6 years ago when I moved, Sunday was the first time I'd played in about 3 months so was happy with said break. had a couple of 80 breaks in practice in the past, nothing better than that, and an exhibition win over Ian McCulloch about 10 years ago. all with a toyshop cue stephen bought for my birthday for about 15 quid! I played 2 or 3 times a week for over a year (When I really got into it) and have played just once in the past 6 or 8 months.

I just can't see the angles.
busybeeburns
probably does what most of the pros on the circuit do, play exhibition matches at clubs and stuff. McCulloch got about £300 that night for just 10 frames, and that was years ago. Don't remind stephen though, he lost when mcculloch played the whole frame one handed :laugh3:
Reilly
Haha, unlucky Stephen. its not mine because i've got an artistic brain rather than a mathematical one. I just can't see the angles. I still used to watch a lot of snooker before I had played, without knowing the angles without the commentators aid, I don't think it matters so much. But I guess my interest has picked up a bit when I see shots and think about how I'd play them, as for a lot of the more straightforward ones the commentator doesn't say much. Jenjie
i play best after a couple of shots of vodka, because i stop trying to think about what i'm doing. still complete rubbish though

Guest howyousawtheworld
Does anyone think that Gould could do what Shaun Murphy did 5 years ago? I think it'd be worth a bet don't you? Anyway I want either O'Sullivan to win, because he's O'Suillivan - a genius, or Stephen Hendry just because ever since I started watching snooker in 2002 - I've never seen him win a BBC tournament! Sit back and enjoy ladies and gentlemen! busybeeburns
definately worth a punt, but I think he's an all out potter and when his confidence final goes he'll be outplayed by a more experienced player. Here's hoping I'm wrong though!
