April 24, 201016 yr Says: http://idolator.com/5486622/b-o-b-finds-his-way-with-coldplay-sample-on-lost Chart-topping Atlanta rapper/singer B.o.B (and his producers) have won over even the pickiest music fans with their impeccable choices in the songs for his forthcoming The Adventures Of Bobby Ray album. They recruited Paramore’s Hayley Williams to sow a little angst for “Airplanes”, added Eminem to punch up the sequel, and then snagged Janelle Monae and a clever Vampire Weekend sample for “The Kids”. Unconventional picks, right? But now we know: sooner or later, everyone has to follow the rules. And the rules state clearly that all modern hip-hop stars have to work with Chris Martin. Check the Coldplay sample in B.o.B’s unreleased “Lost” below: Download: B.o.B feat. T.I. - Not Lost The J.R. Rotem-produced track will actually not appear on Bobby Ray — apparently Martin & Co. refused to approve the use of the sample. Too bad, because that snippet of “Lost” propels B.o.B’s track even as it adds weight to B.o.B’s ultimately hopeful lyrics. (His label boss, T.I., contributes an unusually upbeat verse too). It’s not as tight as “Airplanes” or “The Kids”, though — as Prefix suggests — it might’ve been a fine addition to B.o.B’s mixtape. For now, we’ll just have to wait for B.o.B to get big enough that Coldplay wants to sample him.
April 24, 201016 yr I almost wish I didn't listen to it, that was TERRIBLE. Thank god they refused to approve the use of the sample !
April 24, 201016 yr I read in Entertainment Weekly that B.o.B. was suicidal until he heard Square One. Coldplay basically saved his life.
April 24, 201016 yr I read in Entertainment Weekly that B.o.B. was suicidal until he heard Square One. Coldplay basically saved his life. WOAH. :stunned:
April 24, 201016 yr ^ How could I forget Lost+, featuring both Mr. Gwyneth Paltrow and Mr. Beyonce Knowles?
April 24, 201016 yr Finally Coldplay could be the ones to sue someone, sadly their too nice to probably really do it.
April 24, 201016 yr Thank you, Will. Good decision. Agreed. Will is God. Like, I can manage listening to hip-hop reworks of Coldplay, but this one is so poorly underworked that whoever produced it either spent 15 minutes screwing around or intended the track to be a complete joke.
April 24, 201016 yr they probably would approve it if it actually had chris in it, or if they featured chris in it for an original like kanye did.
April 24, 201016 yr Thank you, Will. Good decision.! I read in Entertainment Weekly that B.o.B. was suicidal until he heard Square One. Coldplay basically saved his life. Huh. That's interesting
April 24, 201016 yr I actually like B.o.B's remix of Lost. It's not like he was trying to steal it...people sample songs all the time! I think it would have actually helped more mainstream people know Coldplay & this song too (plus obviously liked it better than the Jay Z remix ) :D But hey...Coldplay has their reasoning for not letting them use it and I support them.
April 24, 201016 yr who/what's B.o.B?? btw that thing with T.I. is... how sould I say it?..... shit? I have no idea what B.o.B stands for but they have one of the biggest songs on the billboard right now called "Nothing on You" :D
April 24, 201016 yr ^never heard of it.:) AHhh, it's quite big here in Los Angeles. I hear it like twice during every car trip! It's really like the song but it's safe to say it's way overplayed here in Los Angeles. <param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385">
April 24, 201016 yr ^never heard of it.:) Typo..meant "I really like the song" Oh, btw LOVE the picture in your signature :D It's soooo beautiful!
April 24, 201016 yr Hmm I think I remember hearing the B.o.B track with the singer from paramore and thinking it was good. But not fond of his version of Lost though, it's a bit too poppy for me. Oh yeah and I've heard that song "Nothing on You" too, they play it a lot on the radio and I really like it. (The lyrics are really sweet too)
April 25, 201016 yr I read in Entertainment Weekly that B.o.B. was suicidal until he heard Square One. Coldplay basically saved his life. I read that too, and it makes me half-sad they said no. But the song needed to be much much much more original.
