Kele (Bloc Party) Solo Stuff

Bloc Party singer Kele Okereke started a solo project under his own name since Bloc Party are taking a break (boo :dozey:). Début "The Boxer" will be out on June 21st and the first single was released today. FYI: it's not very Bloc Party-ish.

I haven't liked Bloc Party since Silent Alarm, but this is still outright terrible. I read that it was difficult for Kele to put down the guitar, and now I can see why.

I really liked silent alarm and a few tracks off A weekend in the city.

After that they just got worse and worse in my opinion.

This solo record is even worse.

so have bloc party officially split up now Kele said "here's a song by a band I used to be in?"

They are on hiatus, so probably in a couple years down the line they will get back together for LP4.

 

I think I'm right in thinking that the Halloween show at the end of their october tour was their last live show together as a group

I think the "plan" was to reunite in a year or something, but nothing concrete as far as I know. Kele has been awfully vague about this in recent interviews. :sad:
