I didn't quite run over a deer, but I had a very close encounter twice. The first time it almost jumped right in front of me but jumped away at the last minute. It was still so close that I barely swiped it, and a tuft of fur got stuck in some of the metal on my car. The other time there was a big "herd" of deer that decided to cross the road in front of me; fortunately I was able to stop in time.

Unfortunately deer get hit by car all the time around here, even during the summer. Almost every day I see a new dead deer on my way to work, at some point during my commute.

Isn't there some crazy rule/law in this country which says that if you run over a pheasant, you can't pick it up but the person driving behind you can?

My dad told me that once, but I wasn't sure if he was joking :P

I've run over a fox before, it ran out and there was nothing I could do,I've also had a pigeon fly into me which I'm sure didn't end well for it either.

How often do swans stray on to roads?

If you kill a swan, you end up in the Tower!

i have never killed in animal whilst driving a vehicle on the count of the fact that i do not have one and dont know how to drive

but i have ran over an already dead possum on my bike. it was a small lane so i couldnt do anything except go " oh...eww oh nooh god eww eww... oh no ...oh nnn-- aahhh too late"

How do you know it wasn't just playing possum when you ran it over?

I'm glad you didn't hit it. I love deer. We see a few of them in our backyard semi-regularly... they're the slightly starved confused adolescent kind generally speaking but they're absolutely beautiful anyway. Amazing animals.

Wow Mark, you've made like 5 puns in this whole page, I can't even imagine in the whole thread.

That was shockingly bad

I'm off to post her in the Hot Girls thread now :p

I don't know about successful troll being successful, but successful troll has certainly got a lot of puns.

Thank god, I can't see any of them... I like to focus on the small blessings in life. :nice:

Gawd, then he does that rolleyes thing.. BAAAH.

Ahdah' boy :nice:

Last summer I ran over a raccoon. I felt terrible about it. I was going down this road, that's somewhat narrow in the sense there are bushes along the sides. And as I was driving the raccoon ran out and there was no way for me to do anything. I reacted but it was too late.

I'm still a really safe driver, haven't gotten a ticket and don't speed.

I'm a safe driver too :snobby: I just get reckless when I'm driving by myself.. that doesn't sound good:laugh3: im jk

Wild BOARD appeared!

opps!

Not that big. About dog size I beleive. It doesn't happen a lot with foxes but once in a while there will be one in our yard in the road, so its pretty cool.

Yeah, we have a bunch of animal families around our house. It's cool because in the winter, the tracks are all over the place. :wacky:

and you go and track them all out and make out what they are? :idea2: :nice:

:awesome:

In Hellerup, north of Copenhagen (*cough*frengers*cough*) there is this big road that goes through the forest and a lot of deer get hit there

But there is nothing to do to prevent it, I guess.

maybe drive slower?:( that sucks.. when it's dark you can barely see anything though..

the second time sounds scary! That's really sad. I was really surprised that it didn't move.. maybe it did get scared but I guess knew I wasn't going to do anything to it. I wanted to touch why is probably why I got out. It was really amazing

I've seen deers before too but just never that close & specially 'cause they tend to get away if you try to get close & I agree.

I do drive too fast, but obviously only on safe roads I don't see a problem with going fast in the right places, just not in towns or built up areas, I also never wear my seatbelt.
