I'm not a huge Barca fan, I don't hate them or anything but out of the two I would rather see Utd take the trophy.

No they've not had a great year but I don't know, Barca have just started to grate on me recently, with how everyone seems to endlessly praise them, I can't really explain it that well but I'm supporting Utd for the final.

All it can take from Barcelona is one bit of genius such as a absolutely perfect swift through ball from Iniesta or the such and someone like Messi is clean through on defence. Man Utd aren't as good defesively as Real Madrid so it could be easier for them to exploit that in the final.

Praise isn't deserved when a team plays with incredible skill? They have one of the best sides in the history of football, so I don't see why they shouldn't be praised.

And I'm not just saying that as a Barsa supporter. If Real were 10 points ahead of Barsa in the league, with the amazing stats Barsa has right now, I'd praise them for their skill as well. But that's not the case. In terms of talent, Real is pretty even with Barsa, but Barsa plays so well as a single unit, and I find their level of play to be quite deserving of praise.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying thier not extremely skilled Messi,Iniesta,Xavi are some of the best players I've seen, I just find it a bit annoying when other teams fans have sort of half given up thier teams chance of winning before the match has even been played when it comes to Barca.

Well that's not Barca's fault, but yeah, nothing wrong with going for the considerable underdog.

If the team I support managed it last year I don't see why Man Utd can't, granted Inter did it over 2 legs though.

I'd say Barcelona of the past two years is without doubt the best football side in a generation. I think a second Champions League title in 3 seasons would do that team justice and would fully cement their position high up as one of the greatest sides in world football.

3 things.

Fun Fact 1 : since the last time the two teams met. Barca FC has spent approx 150 million euros on players (samuel eto'o trade not included) Man utd has spent a little over 30 million in the same period.

Fun Fact 2 : WE'RE GOING TO WEMBLEY :D

Not so Fun Fact 1 : the logical conclusion to this final would be a 3-0 or 4-0 win to barca. anyone who knows the least bit about football looking down the two team lists could tell you that. but they're playing manchester fucking united!! so lets see what happens :)

ah thats right you're the guy with the inexplicable hatred of using the word "we" when talking about supporting a football club.

Nope, I thought you were going.

On the other hand I do support a team who I have had a season ticket for for over 15 years, and whilst that does not necessarily make me more of a fan, it does mean whenever I say that phrase, or a similar phrase, it means something slightly more personal to me.

I often say we, though.

if i was going i think i would've said "i'm going to wembley"

and i'm not sure what your second comment was meant to say. but if it's what i think. then i would say the epl wouldn't be half the competition it is today if it wasnt for the passion of its international supporters.

I was merely explaining why I was confused.

True, it would not be as big without international interest. I never said to the contrary.

I'm off to Wembley

Managed to grab myself some top-class Corporate Seats, right behind one of the goals, and the best part is that it's a freebie!

Only joking, it will be non-fans in those corporate seats given to the Uefa "family"

Man Utd has the advantage in that they have already played at Wembley and know how crap the pitch is ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

Porto a goal up in the final, one chance and Falcao converts i hope they win it the way they have played they deserve it.
