i've still got my coldplay poster and a framed pic of noel gallagher on my wall, haha :nice:

at my parents home i still have tons of sportsman posters in a box.

one time i ll have to look them up. some things i can't throw away^^

i guess i will find a paul scholes poster between all those basketball superstars :)

Just got back from the game/drowning our sorrows in alcohol.

Very, very disappointed.

But congratulations, Barcelona. You deserve it. :nice:.

I watched the match in a movie theatre, and it should've been awesome, but the polarized images somehow were inverted, and nobody realized it until 65 minutes were past. Result: 65 minutes watching a blurry image and 25 minutes wearing my polarized glasses upside down. And guess what? The tickets weren't even close to cheap

But the match was great, no doubt. A few United fans left the room crying, but I was happy at the end, 'cause the best side won.

Well and truly beaten by the better side. I will have Fergie's face from the final whistle as my desktop background! No not really, but hey it was priceless!

did you see how hard he was chewing his game near the end haha. but say what you like about the man. he has done an amazing job with the squad he had this season and all the headaches they gave him.

Which game was he chewing? Scrabble?:P

However, Barcelona finally showed them up for the sub-standard team they have been this season.

They couldn't get near Barca most of the match.:dozey:

name one other team that has been able to get near barca this season? don't say real madrid cos they were belted 5-0 by them and then convincingly beaten in the semis. don't say arsenal as they got similar treatment at the nou camp and because we all know what happened to them this season.

todays match told us very little about man utd's shortcomings and a lot about barca's brilliance.

However great Barca might be, it's probably been the least impressive Man U team to have won the EPL ever.

A truly great United team would have been able to compete in that final, not be overrun like that.

That's the reality of it.

says a lot about the rest of the EPL doesn't it.

Sadly, yes. Man U pretty much won it by default, as the opposition capitulated.

The EPL was exciting and entertaining this season, but not of a very high standard. Hopefully next season's will be better.

Whatever happens, Man U will definitely need to bring in some fresh faces, as the likes of Giggs and Scholes won't be around for much longer.

At the moment there are no players in the squad capable of filling their boots.

absolutely brilliant performance by barcelona. no amount of passion for man utd can stop me from admitting they are the best the footballing world has seen in a long time.

I was scared shitless for the first ten minutes. United came out very strong, but faded pretty quickly and allowed Barsa to get into their groove, which meant the beginning of the end for United. After Rooney's goal I thought they had a shot...but of course the other #10 came to play and after that goal I knew it was all over. It was by far the most hyped I've ever seen Lionel Messi! Loved it.

It was truly inspirational how Abidal was the first to lift the trophy. I'm so proud of him and the rest of the squad.

To me the game demonstrated that Man U are a great team at the moment, but they are just lacking 2 more world class players than just Rooney.

That's probably pretty accurate. The truth is that they never replaced Ronaldo, and since then their other world-class attacking players such as Giggs and Scholes have gone past their prime.

Not only that, but Rooney went through a very rough patch in the first half of the season where he was well below his best.

He's had a much better second half of the season, but he can't do it alone.

Rooney a world class playes? :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:

Against Barcelona, Cristiano Ronaldo made no difference for United in 2009 neither for Real Madrid this year. I don't understand why you think he'd make any difference for United this year.

You may say that but last night was a game over 90 minutes. Not 180 in the ties they faced against Real and Arsenal. Both Real and Arsenal were able to defeat Barca over 90 minutes at some point because they exploited there most venemous threat on Barca at the right moments through substitution but also by accepting Barca's superiority in possession and hounding them into positions away from the deadly centre of Xavi and Iniesta - mainly out wide. This is what Arsenal at the Emirates did really well and when given the ball Wenger's men just broke instantly without hesitation.

Ferguson's big error last night was thinking he could tackle Barcelona's immense possession keeping skills. He was so wrong. Ferguson is a great manager. Great in getting the players mindset right. Great at buying the right players. Great at building a team.

But he is most certainly not the greatest when it comes to tactics. He can get them right in the big games but a lot of the time, particularly in recent years, he's been found wanting against some very good sides.

I was really hoping for some strong countering but it just didn't happen often enough.
