August 16, 201015 yr well KID A is like an acid trip You have no idea what you're talking about, but I'm starting to like you a bit more now that I see you're a pretty decent Radiohead fan. that's an interesting way of looking at introducing Radiohead but I do agree... they are the kind of band that you have to introduce gradually, being they are a band you need time to get into. I'd probably recommend their most known/pop songs first (High & Dry, Karma Police, Creep, House of Cards, There There, No Surprises) I always recommend All I Need, Fake Plastic Trees, and House of Cards first, then gradually move into more complex songs.

August 16, 201015 yr I always recommend All I Need, Fake Plastic Trees, and House of Cards first, then gradually move into more complex songs. House of Cards is shit. I'd recommend Reckoner.
August 16, 201015 yr House of Cards is shit. I'd recommend Reckoner. i wouldn't say it's shit. it's a very chill song. perhaps not one of their best but still good.
August 16, 201015 yr About the thread I don't find anything by Radiohead remotely enjoyable. Why should your friend like OK Computer? Why should anyone be forced to like and praise Radiohead like half the music journalists in this world. SPIN recently said that Radiohead 'kinda blows' and the whole music world nearly had a heart attack. And if someone DARES to criticise them the majority of their fans accuse you of being 'ill informed' 'ignorant' 'lacking in any good taste in music' and telling us that Thom Yorke is the greatest lyricist ever to have graced the planet. Yes even better than Lennon and McCartney. Yes even better than Morrissey. And yes they are serious about it! Even their presence on stage sickens me. They usually leave out their hit single Creep during live performances which is just incredibly snobbish. It's like 'we're above that song which is for mainstream thickos'. Could you imagine an Oasis gig without Wonderwall? A U2 gig without Where The Streets Have No Name? A Coldplay gig without Yellow? All top top classics but Radiohead don't do classics. Not Radiohead, not the holy, divine Radiohead. At best background music for the sort of tv adverts B&Q commission.
August 16, 201015 yr huge radiohead fan!!! House of Cards is shit. I'd recommend Reckoner. House of Cards is nowhere near my favorite Radiohead song, it's just a great song to recommend because it's so chill. Reckoner is much better, but it's far too complex for someone's first Radiohead song. About the thread I don't find anything by Radiohead remotely enjoyable. Why should your friend like OK Computer? August 16, 201015 yr ^ 1. I think Radiohead are freaking brilliant, so I understand the praise. 2. I don't think anyone's dumb for not liking them. It's a matter of taste, and I get annoyed at Radiohead fans who tend to be an elitist bunch. 3. Radiohead are great, but there are so many other bands that I like as well. I can't stand when people are asked about their favorite band and they throw Radiohead out there just to be cool.
August 16, 201015 yr i wouldn't say it's shit. it's a very chill song. perhaps not one of their best but still good. Calling it shit was kind of an over-exaggeration, but it's not one of my favorites from In Rainbows and it wouldn't be the one I'd show someone if I wanted to introduce them to Radiohead. House of Cards is nowhere near my favorite Radiohead song, it's just a great song to recommend because it's so chill. Reckoner is much better, but it's far too complex for someone's first Radiohead song. Wut? Reckoner isn't complex. It was the second Radiohead song I'd ever heard, and the one that got me interested them.
August 16, 201015 yr I think that not everyone has to love Radiohead, in the same sense not everyone has to love the Beatles or whatever. At the same time regardless of if you like the band or not you cannot deny their importance and influece. In terms of not playing Creep live I don't think it's so bad. I mean all bands should not have to continue to play songs that they do not like to play live. Of course Radiohead has other popular/well known songs to play in it's place, so it's not much of a problem

I know what you mean. I still think that it would be a good song to show someone because it seems like a very accessible song.
