What is it like for you to fall in love?

I want to know what you guys think actually, at the same time like, thinking about myself too and being selfish. :shame:

It's more like what most people define falling in love. And perhaps the thread title has some grammar errors...

But really..... what's happened Em?

There must be a serious lack of attractive men where you are :disappointed:

It's not that, it's almost as if I can't differentiate between just admiring, crushing, or whatever else.

But, I'm not ruling out the lack of attractive men.

I've had sooo many crushes, but I've only been in love once. :nice:

I guess you just feel sweet, happy all the time. Sometimes I'll randomly start laughing if I remember something they've said. I love getting messages from them that just make you all...haha warm and jittery? Like, the random 'I love you kissy face' texts. :shy:

Is that what you're asking? :laugh3:

Well yeah. :uhoh:

I know what it feels like when it's one-sided. :dozey:

That happens to me, all the time.

In fact I think the only time I liked a guy and he liked me back was like... 12 years old? :freak:

I've a feeling boys bitch about me behind my back. I am quite fierce and a burst to their ego bubble after all. Not exactly the type of girl they would like. :shame:

Having crushes is fun! You know, having your heart skip a beat whenever your crush catches your eye. And you can feel yourself blushing when you notice them noticing you... (OMG sounds like that Akon song... :\ :laugh3:)

MAJOR CHEESINESS COMING UP! (You asked for it, Lyvie!)

Falling in love is totally different. The first time I fell in love, it was scary and at the same time completely awesome. Scary because I was so concerned about how long the relationship would last, how long before he realises that I'm a complete weirdo, how long he'd be able to put up with my weirdness before he'd find it annoying, etc... But I discovered there was no point over analysing these things, and at that the only way to find out was to jump in with both feet! That was five years ago, and yet I still regularly fall in love all over again with the same dude I fell for the first time. :D

How does it feel? Comforting. To know that someone's there to support you all the time, to know that someone actually appreciates all the little things that you do that other people may find annoying or weird... To know that you are capable of making another person happy just by being yourself... It's good. :nice:

Hahaha! :laugh3:

Not that cheesy after all. At least it's not like reading Nicholas Sparks.

Maybe I do know how it feels, but I deny it, even if it's just a crush. So that hopes will not turn to disappointments. It's like, saving yourself before it's too late.

it is the greatest feeling i have experienced and i long for it to come back. when it leaves you, you become empty and everything loses its meaning.

it is ultimate contentedness, though at the same time you don't lose your drive and ambition. you know that if you died right then it would be fine and you needn't have regret.

it consumes you and becomes the focal point in your life, but it isn't overbearing or claustrophobic.

i like the daniel johnston song - love defined. he took the lyrics from the bible, and even though i am against organised religion i like this description very much.

Love is patient and kind

Love is not jealous or boastful

It is not arrogant or rude

Love does not insist on its own way

It is not irritable or resentful

It does not rejoice at wrong

But rejoices in the right

Love bears all things

Believes all things

Hopes all things

Endures all things

Love never ends.

Yeah, that verse <3

But sometimes love can become obsessive, but I suppose that's a different thing.

I suppose so too.

Guh, I have tendencies to become obsessive. :shame:

I suppose so too.

i don't think obsession is a direct by-product of love

i think some people are just obsessive and that happens alongside love

love itself is the purest thing i have ever encountered

It's hurtful.

.

I don't think it's really wrong, it's good to be obsessive to a certain extend.

I suppose I also have tendencies in becoming obsessive.

I think any form of good, has it's potential of being bad.

true, and conversely even damnation is poisoned with rainbow.

there's good and bad in everything, it is up to the person how they deal with the emotions.

and with an emotion so strong as love there is such a gulf in ranging emotions which can affect us

I think this fact will be good for this thread: my grandparents got married after 3 days they first time met, and they live together 60 years now ;) it's amazing, I think, how deep and long the love could last

^That's great. My parents met in first grade, dated after high school and broke up once.

Greg, you sound so knowledgable.

well it is all opinion.

it affects people in many different ways and this is just my interpretation of it.

some people think they are in love but they are not. others don't realise they are in love. in that sense it is a mysterious emotion and unfortunately at many times quite elusive too.

i am just glad i have experienced it.

It's hurtful.

This. It sucks when it kinda hurts. For me, it's usually just that I miss the person so much I want to explode. :freak:

is it hard to break up and start over?

is it hard to break up and start over?

if you are in love it is heart wrenching. but it is possible. unfortunately with absence and acceptance love fades. the trick is to try and fill that gap with something else once it is gone. to replace it with another love is very hard but possible. once again it depends how you deal with things.

and once again that is opinion :p

hey, I was asking about your expierence in these things! :inquisitive:

It's hard when your bf breaks up with you and then asks you out again. :shifty:

yeh, it's not fair, I think. If you broke up once, so it means it's over

well i haven't managed it yet, but i do believe it to be possible

i believe it more and more every day

Aww, that's really good of your grandparents!

I don't know what my grandfather saw in my grandmother. Can never comprehend to why he married her of all people. He's such a nice person he deserves someone better. But haha, he's at a better place now.

That's the thing, how does a person really know whether they're in love, not in love, just mere infatuation or something merely as normal as a crush?

On a random note, my mouse is a bitch.

i believe in the cliche that you just know when it happens

i spent a lot of time wondering if i was in love and presuming i was, but then when it happened i just knew.

on the other hand there is nothing wrong in thinking you are in love when you are not because you are obviously experiencing something amazing so just roll with it and enjoy yourself.

Haha you're right.

Do you think a person must be in a relationship, have something two way, to be in love?
