Is it worth getting Spotify?

Featured Replies

Yes

Vast library of tracks to listen to, perfect if you want to get an album but is not 100% sure on it's worth, you can listen to the album (plus adverts) for free to see if it's worth buying legally.

spotify at least in spain you can upload on your account your library from your computer.

you can access a lot of bands whole discographies but for:

no oasis

no pink floyd

no the beatles

some album disappear:

rammstein

placebo

travis

but you can get to know many new bands. :)

haha, cool :awesome:

well back on topic:

annoying thing is if you have free account adverts be each 30 mins or so, usually 2 30 sec ad each. but at times it can freeze a bit the program :\

apparently if you are pay client, you can play upto 3000 songs on your smartphone (iphone, android), i'm not that posh so never tried that.

Maybe I should rename the thread and have it moved.

I wouldn't be a pay client, and I already have access to unlimited music. Thank you YouTube.

it is, but well you can access albums before buying them.

well not all rare songs are on youtube.

i dunno.

may be they want to be known for that, get new bands there.

they also add old bands.

but is weird when the album release is on wrong date.

as the album has been added this year but is of the 2004 and it says 2010. :\

i still prefer it, i moved from lastfm. i wonder how long it'll be 'free' then i may move to another system or if lucky get enough money i'll directly buy from itunes or download from some free music site as jamendo.

I don't see why you shouldn't get it if you're just going to use the free version anyway. I use it secondary to my iTunes library. For most music it's really convenient to listen to on Spotify first (most because not all music is available on Spotify) if you don't want to download immediately. That's what I do, because I have a humongous library and I'm running out of space all the time. When I discover a cool artist on Spotify I usually end up downloading anyway because I want to have the music I like in my iTunes. Spotify also scrobbles to last fm, which is a big plus to me compared to a lot of the other free music streaming clients.

That's a good software but like Darlene said, there are not Beatles. It's depressing. :dozey:

^ Seriously? :shocked2:

Suck that Yoko!

well its a fiver a month in the UK to add your own music and play Spotify offline. All the songs you have on your iPod can be transferred into the software.

is Spotify available in the US yet?

Don't think it is.

Isn't there a limit on how much free stuff you can listen to if you get an account now?
