World of Music Fangirls

and more the groupies who is more interested in sex of the singers but less in his music. the fans is who loves music but does not think or less to put the singers in bed.

after you have bands that want the groupies in their bed. there was lot. examples, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Bowie, Bon Jovi but especially in the metal music is a common practice.

I am a little confused since you always say that you yourself are a groupie. Are you a groupie (somebody who has casual sex with the bands, and usually targets multiple bands to do this with) or not?

I agree with what you say about fans loving the music.

Fangirls suck.

and swallow :D

btw, when is one considered a fangirl? I know I post more in Mew's thread than in a Coldplay related threads in here, hahaha!, but eh does that automatically make me a Mew fangirl? (I mean, I don't swoon or talk about how they look naked)

On a more general note, when does a fangirl get annoying?

When they refer to themselves as a fangirl.

not see myself as groupie, but some bands or fans think I'm a groupie like the others. never considered as woman simple , a girlfriend so... someone importante for a man a singer (for me unfortunately in showbise) .

so I'm a groupie on the net for all . I have no statue .

plus I do not want to put the men in my bed. I just love listening to music. I am a person who does not know English to understand their lyrics. and try to see people's character. not of the famous icon.

plus I'm just looking for a real love because I am depressed .

Well here a list by the groupiesdirt .

http://www.groupiedirt.com/

I am here ? :(

I can not love the word groupie as I can not love this kind of practice. is the opposition to my values on the true love .

I always understood the term 'groupie' as someone who is not into the band for the music, but for the men in it. They want to have sex with the band member, have a kind of personal relation with them.

A fan - on the other hand - is then someone who enjoys a band at another level: their music, their gigs, interaction with fellow fans, perhaps thinks that a band's member is hot, but never to a certain degree that that's the obsession (fan's derived from fanatic). It should be about the music/atmosphere created by the band, not a person in the band (or status you might get by a relationship you have with a bandmember).

A fangirl seems to fall somewhere in between, but is certainly not the same as a groupie.

I don't know if I am clear, hahaha, but yeah, that's my 50 cents.

I don't know if this is the general consensus. ...

Ahh, thank you. I understand.

That's why I don't see the difference between a fan and a fangirl/boy. Fans can see the sexual side of a band too, claiming to be a fangirl always appears to me to have an obsession with pushing forward the sexual side constantly. Therefore for the majority I find them less interesting in their discussions on the band.

An example is that I have still never seen the Mew 'fangirls' have an in depth discussion about the band, other than a few quoted lyrics and saying they really like a certain track. There never seems to be any constructive critique of the art, it just ends up as a picspam. This is not the same for all 'fangirls' however, but then I don't believe those people to be actual fangirls, just fans of the music who incidentally would fuck some of the band members.

I find Bjork really hot, but I don't go on about it because there is so much more to say about the music. Attractiveness can only be discussed to a certain point. Music has far greater depth. That's why I don't know how fangirls keep pushing the sexual side. It would get boring for me. Seems very much a teenage girl thing to do, no offence. I'd just refer to myself as a fan and if it came up in conversation I would say that I found her attractive.

/rambling post.

Ahh, thank you. I understand.

the famous have fun use me on the net Inconito. I become groupie .

only one man famous had the respect for me. because really talk with me on net. from the ex band The Catch . Scots John Ratcliff the person who helped and put in the spotlight A-ha is the only one who thinks I am a normal person and not fanatic .

My real life is so destruction now .

I never listen Bjork or when I listen to his songs it's as if I had to listen to a woman who is cold as ice and sings for humanoids. plus I feel it's a woman upset crasy in madhouse. it's real famous who does not love . is an impression not know her . is as his songs ?

a bit like certain celebs such as Madonna .

I have really different taste in music. me it has always listen Sandra, kim Wilde, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Janis joplin, blondie, Kate Bush etc....

Then you should give Bjork a listen because her music is some of the most beautiful around. If there is anybody who oozes love it is Bjork, so I'm not sure where you got that impression of her from.

I can't get into her music. I honestly can't.

I love Icelandic talents but she's quite the character.

I've tried a couple of times, it's just not happening.

I don't understand the terms fangirls or fanboys.

What happened to simple fans?

Simply being a fan of something would make me think that they really liked it and took a large interest in it. Putting gender in to it makes it seemed based too much on sex, and with music, if you are basing it around sex it's majorly shallow. That should be a nice bonus if the band you like have a sex appeal. I always thought of fan as a strong word, and if it was just a band you liked but didn't go crazy over you just said you liked them, or they were decent.

All this is very good. I suppose a lot of "fangirls" or "fanboys" just have started to accept the term as that is what people usually call them if they find a band member attractive and admire them.

And yes it would be very boring if there was nothing else going on except pictures, regarding what you said in a later post. :\

Fair enough. I was just surprised to hear her described as somebody who plays music for humanoids.

You're so serious .

I voted Blur/Gorillaz/Damon Albarn fangirls because they just don't seem to take them seriously! They make me laugh . And yeah, Damon Albarn is so HOT it kills me sometimes :bomb: haha.

lol :D

Bjork is stunning in every way!

Thank you for these.

Jonas often locked into his world, nothing is just his mind in delirium .

just makes me think that two people away and make crazy noises inside the music that does not make sense to people is empty or crasy any sense... but for them yes symmetry song code is unique. because life is empty always in the past and now too and it should to compensate. there are lots of depression, then the noise is very loud if the drummer Silas (sensitive man as a girl ) beats the steady rhythm of a heart for life but it's cold outside (the showbise, the life ) and hot (in mind )

fangirls? well just Bo. but since crying is bears a hero and I love him very much.

or Mew it's empty like a fashion show or famous as Muse.

H.S Now it's easier to vote for people who would vote Mew but said "fangirls" is strange if the fangirls can not interpret the lyrics private. ( the singer said in interview) can Only love the sex of the guys. any music love So they're all groupies. How sad.

I guess their fan base is not as scary as the ones listed.

why there's no radiohead on the poll since we have a big fanbase here?

Well all those listed in the poll seem to be bands with a lot of I guess "new" fans on here since Coldplay as stopped touring and doing VLV stuff. Because I guess my original question was whether or not the fans in the WoM have increased since CP has kind of been gone. For ex. it seems a lot of Chris Martin fans have now gone on to Matt Bellamy, etc. for the time being.

Radiohead fans have always had a strong fanbase on here so I guess that's why I didn't include them. And the poll is just silly anyway, it's not meant to be taken seriously :P

SUFJAN FANGIRLS ARE THE BEST :sneaky:

Yes, definitely!

Hey Lizzy!

I'm guilty *is creator of Dom Howard thread* hahaha!!

I know you didn't mean the thread to be taken sooooo seriously but I like the dicsussion so far!

I think a little perving about band members is ok, as long as it's not getting an obsession and you can still laugh about it...

Hard to express what I want to say, especially when I have to leave to work right now! :P

It's true that some of us "wandered off" to perv about other band's members here, but I looooooooove Muse's music so much that I'm close to getting forbidden to play them at work (just like it happened with CP before haha).
