I must say that I really admire the Chilean approach in this case. Everything is running very smoothly. Well done, indeed!

ALL CHILEANS - INCLUDING LOVELY LORE - SHOULD BE PROUD TO BE CHILEAN.

And as I said: TODAY IN SPIRIT, WE ARE ALL CHILEANS ! :sunny:

BBC World Service has a good coverage of today's main event in CHILE.

They have our best engineers and rescue people working there, that's why it's not a surprise for us to see how things are working. The mining industry is big here but the problem is the small mining companies are not prepared to deal with this kind of problems, the work conditions are very hard there.

Good to hear that (and it was also mentioned on BBC World Service).

Danish TV2 News is also reporting from Chile, but showed the pictures of the first two miners coming up over and over again (the little girl greeting her father and the embrace between miner no. 2 and his wife). Then I tried BBC and stayed there.

I will celebrate with salmond and white wine tonight. It is so good with good, uplifting news: A real "live" story with a happy ending.

There is a programme where a person tries to trace his / her biological father or mother with the help of Danish television. I get emotional at every single meeting or reunion. I react in the same way here.

I'm watching a local tv channel, they've been showing a few clips to let us see how the international press is covering this

^I think earlier one of the BBC reporters kind of laughed when he noticed that he was being shown on a local channel while reporting live on BBC. but he was so impressed with the extent of the images/videos that are being given by the government. He said that pictures were also being posted on Flickr. :wacky:

It's definitely all over the news here! It's been the top story on everything... from "Good Morning America" to even our local news station, it's the first thing they talk about. It was the top story last night on ABC World News, I'm sure it will be for the next few days. It is such a happy event!
such a happy event[/color]!

Exactly - it is such a HAPPY event.

It is so good with HAPPY NEWS / a real story with a HAPPY ENDING for once.

POSITIVE NEWS instead of all these normal negative news items. That is something that we all need.

honestly, most of us thought they were dead, at least some of them. It was such a great day when they let us know they all were alive! it's very exciting to see how this is working perfectly so far

18 miners left :)

wow. 3 miners in a little over an hour. it is kind of getting faster, I think. :nice:

What great scenes. Brilliant to have our news stations covering good news.

Great to know they are getting out fairly fast

It is so fantastic.

For 5 minutes, I looked at CNN (otherwise, I have followed events from BBC World Service) and a reporter told this:

Some of the miners have told that before the collapse of the mine they informed the mine owners that they heard creaking. But the mine owners told the miners to get back to complete their shift OR they would get fired, and there was a line of unemployed that would be glad to do their job = replace them.

No doubt about it: The mine owners weighed PROFITS higher than human lives. :disappointed:

I have just seen the rescue of miner no. 32 - Ariel who is the father of ESPERANZA - the girl being born while her father was trapped underground in the mine. Ariel's wife was there to greet him.

I am so impressed that everything has gone so well and smoothly.

I feel like saying:

VIVA LA VIDA

and

VIVA CHILE!

I will call Dalek the exterminator to exterminate those mine owners weighing profits higher than the lives of these wonderful miners.

The last one is on his way out. I am so happy for them and the miners. :nice::bigcry:

*exterminates the mine owners*

I knew that I could count on you.   :sunny:

siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii !

los chicos han salvando
