Watched it. Loved it.

Can't say it's the best in the series though but it's up there. :D

Someone needs to explain John Blake to me. I don't read much of the comics but I know

Robin's real name is not Robin. For a moment I thought he was the new Batman (like Batman Beyond) but wrong name. So I'm confused

John Blake is just a cop in the "Nolan-verse". Commissioner Gordon said that Blake reminded him of himself from his early days. John Blake is kinda like Dick Greyson, But without the name dick Greyson. At the end of the movie( SPOILERS!!)

When Bruce ends up in Venice, the whole world believed Batman and Bruce Wayne to be dead. Although Bruce left John the coordinates to the Bat Cave. As Bruce said in Batman Begins. As a symbol he can be incorruptible. As a man, he can be ignored, but as a symbol, he can be everlasting. So Bruce Wayne could die or in this case live, and pass on the mantle of Batman to John Blake. But Gotham will probably not need another Batman. So he would most likely become Robin. Although I hope, it starts the new reboot with JGL. He is amazing actor. I believe honestly that he will suffer as the new hero of Gotham forcing Bruce to return "From the dead" and return as Batman in his 40's-50's, hence following the, "The Dark Knight Returns" comic storyline.

Hope I summed it up good enough.

ps.

Look for my signal.

I was pissed about John Blake. Everything about him. I see his value in terms of helping Gordon, but that should have been it. I didn't like how he just automatically knew Batman's true identity by some crazy orphan connection he has to Bruce Wayne. I also didn't like the idea of him becoming Robin? Or the next batman? Or whatever. They should have left that little part out. I like the idea of Bruce still being alive though.

So John Blake is not a comic-based character?

I was wondering if he was or not. Hence, my confusion. I was hoping he was because now, the ending has me annoyed. I like my comic-based movies to follow the comic's mythos. :(

And yes, as soon as the movie ended, I thought to myself, there needs to be a movie based on John Blake with JGL in it!!!

- How does Bruce come to have the clean-slate device?

(That project started 3-4 years before TDKR)

- What is Daggett’s reason for hiring Bane?

(He wanted to take over Wayne Enterprises)

- How does Blake realize that Bruce is Batman?

(They were both orphans, plus only somebody rich could be Batman. He used deductive reasoning)

- How is Bruce’s back fixed so easily?

(The rope technique, and the will to fight on)

- How does Batman escape the bomb’s blast when we see him inside The Bat

less than 8 seconds before its detonation at sea?

Batman fixed the autopilot switch 6 months prior to the climax. He jumped out with a few seconds to spare.)

- How did Selina Kyle create her hi-tech suit and goggles?

( She probably stole it, or stole money and put it together)

- How does Bane know Bruce is Batman?

(He like Bruce was trained by Ras. He also has informants everywhere in the city)

- How is Catwoman part of Bane’s plans – trapping Bruce in Bane’s underground lair?

(She had to trap Bruce in with Bane, little did she know the extent of Bane's true plan)

- How does Bruce manage to climb the pit so soon after a serious back injury?

(He has the will to fight on, He won't give in no matter what)

- How does Bruce get back to America from escaping the pit?

(He is a trained ninja, this should be easy for him. He went around the world for 7 years prior to Batman Begins to find a way of fighting injustice)

- How does Bruce then get back to Gotham when the river is frozen and the bridges either destroyed or patrolled?

(He probably found a thick layer of ice or went across a bridge that wasn't blown, or took a boat.)

- How does Bane recover so quickly after having his mask damaged?

(Talia fixed it for him, all that happened to his mask was that a few pins came out.)

- How does the time shift from daytime to night so rapidly during Bane’s escape from the Stock Exchange?

( It was probably a time laspe, just like how fast a day can go by)

- How does a child make a jump that far (Talia in the prison)?

( She survived living in prison, She was only a child, She had nothing to lose)

- How does the bomb at sea not cause a tsunami-like tidal wave, devastating much of Gotham?

(I am sure it created some tidal wave, maybe Batman dropped it into the sea.)

(The bomb's range was 6 miles. Batman flew it out past Gotham to the ocean. He flew 6 miles. So then the bomb could not affect Gotham. If the blast radius is 6 miles, then the tsunami wave could not reach Gotham because the blast radius would just as big as the tsunami. But then again the tsunami would travel farther than the blast, So perhaps the wave was not very effective. Maybe Batman flew it out 7 miles.)

Use spoiler tags, man!

UGH I SHOULDN'T HAVE COME IN HERE :bigcry:

Just saw the movie. I did not think it would be as good as the second movie, but I was wrong. That movie is just amazing! Clearly the best of the series.

Christian Bale :dazzled:

John Blake is based off a comic book character.

Tim Drake?

DKR was better than DK for one reason IMO. Heath's performance in DK was too unbelievable that it overshadowed the performance of everyone else in the film. Both are fantastic though, dont get me wrong on that.

Went to the IMAX theater yesterday to watch it.

I thought it was decent, but not spectacular. I certainly wouldn't pay to watch it again, unlike the last one which I went to the theater probably 5 times to watch.

The ending was great though; I don't think they could have wrapped it up any better than that.

(Spoiler Free Comment, Don't worry! )

What I thought of TDKR...

It's better than TDK. Here's why: the story of TDKR is better than the previous movie. In ties into the first two movies very nicely. The fight scenes between Bane and Batman are going to go down in history as one of the most legendary fights in Cinema. We're talking the level of Luke vs. Darth Vader here. Great acting all around. The movie has so many layers, so many moving parts... it's brilliant.

On the other hand, you have TDK. Both movies are a 10 out of 10. However, Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker was so good, that it really became the Joker's movie. Even when he wasn't on screen, you felt his presence.

For this reason, TDKR is a more complete movie. But that's just my feeling at this point. I might just be overhyped after just seeing the movie.

Definitely going to watch it again!

I've been trying to sum up my feelings of the movie, but i think this tweet sums it all up well

https://twitter.com/taswell/status/227298926552829952

"The Dark Knight Rises: a competently produced, two hour and forty-five minute shrug."

There was nothing special about it, the storyline wasn't engaging, action scenes weren't spectacular :\ I enjoyed it, but it's not the 10/10 a lot of you have been hyping it up to be

This movie was awesome! I really like...

the part when John Blake gives his "legal name". Absolute class.

I still don't know what I think about Bane as the villian. He's just a juggernaut and I've always like the more flamboyent villans. After seeing the movie though I can see why they chose him

It worked with him leading the army, while with the Joker it's more like a centrel villan. Bane works when he's part of a big group. Wish we got to see under his mask though. Anne Hathaway was really good as Catwoman which I really didn't expect. Her character was written really well. It was also interesting that the government got involved. The government rarely gets involved with the DC universe, unlike Marvel. I really loved the whole ending too, especailly Alfred's bit.

Great movie. Solid movie up until the last 20 minutes, after that it just becomes amazing. Such a great ending. Sad to see the series end :(

Sad to see the series end :(
is Batman dead? :worried:

put it in a spoiler because I aint seeing the movie :p
