A question

I heard that Brits are very proud that they have such a band.But...What if they weren't British?I mean, what if a band named Coldplay came from Russia(US, Holland etc.) with same music and so on.Would they have such success?lol that question is imp. for me so please take it seriously:)

Привет! :nice:

Yep I think it doesn't matter at all, if the music is awesome, everybody likes them :D Think about A-ha for example, they come from Norway and that's also not a (not to be rude :uhoh:) a "Music" country, same for Germany that has Rammstein.

hmm...however i haven't seen a good Russian band yet, I mean not good enough to be compared with ANY british band....sorry i am not so patriotic:)

I believe that only the UK has all the right ingredients to create a band as awesome as Coldplay.

huh,that's pretty hard to choose.....

Apart from that, what if coldplay were imigrants ,how about that?

They would. A-ha were pretty big back in the 1980s and weren't British! :)

I think there is an element of Coldplay being at the right place and right time (they would always have been successful), but their quick rise to prominence (as well as being phenomonly talented) was partly due to being in London, and knowing the right people. I often wonder if they had gone to a different Uni - not in London - never mind another country- if it might have taken them a bit longer to be discovered. The role Debs played in this as well cannot be understated.

You know it's not really possible to imagine that situation because they are very english in some aspects and it just wouldn't be the same people if they weren't English, which doesn't mean that if someone from another country made this music it wouldn't be populair.

What about the another band with such music (soft rock) could it be popular NOW?That's the thing that bother me most now so..//

Coldplay would not be the same without the charming, self deprecating, slightly eccentric Chris. They could only ever be English......:)

I think the country doesn't matter, just the language is important, if they'd sing in spanish or french they wouldn't be successful of course

Definitely.:smug:

For me, language is one of the least important aspects of music. Its all about the melody, the emotion and the actual song. I love this and its in japanese,
