if you say that to someone when you are talking to them on msn (or anything else over internet use) do you think it's rude? i say that when i think something is funny. i don't necissarily laugh out loud. but she thinks it's kinder when you say "LOL" instead of "lol" :/

she says that when you say "lol" she thinks you mean that you don't care and you're saying "pfft whatever". like you don't care.

gah it doesn't make sense to me. now she thinks i don't like her.

and she never had a problem with it before...

i always write lol. unless i press caps lock by mistake.

i always write haha or hehe :dozey:

I chose either and I don't prefer either of them

Ok, now I'm totally confused... I've never understand some english abbreviation used in the internet... :/

What LOL means? And LMAO? And ROFL?

And I always thought that lol was like :stunned:... but I suppose I'm wrong :dozey:

LOL - Laugh out Loud

LMAO - Laugh My Ass Off

ROFL - Roll on the floor laughing

Ooooh, it's good to know it... Thanks, Sarah!! :D

ok i have a question too what does caio mean??

caio

r u sure its not ciao?

yeah ciao probably..........i dunno

doesn't it mean goodbye, not hello

  • Author

i thought ciao meant goodbye.

meh i don't really know. i've just heard some people say ciao before they leave.

eh, i'll just leave it.

It can be used as Hello or Good bye. It was ussually as Hello, but seeing the relation between Ciao and Chao and other coincidences, the word was used for Bye, and it's accepted like that anyway. In Argentina people tell you Ciao for both, hello and bye, just like in Italy. We use it for Hello only

i knew it meant goodbye but i want to know what it stands for :P

Ciao Fifi (Hello Fifi)

Addio Fifi ( Good Bye Fifi)

you can also say Arrivederci for Goodbye (taht's the word I use)

no i mean like lol stands for laugh out loud ciao stands for ????? :P

Hello, like Hello Fifi "Ciao Fifi" It's the same!

thanks for the foreign language lesson

You're welcome!
