So, you guys all know the tiny letters written on that note from Chris announcing Christmas Lights?

As far as we can tell, it said

? m v a a j r n ? ?

which is obviously gobbledegook.

 

Well, I got Viva la Vida Prospekt's March Edition for Christmas, and I was flicking through the booklets being all stealthy and ninja, studying everything for secret clues. Interestingly enough, I think I found some. In the middle of the VLV booklet is a nice picture of...something...with song titles and lyrics written around it, and in the top let corner I noticed this...

It says

SAMMAJNYCV??

which is more gobbledegook. I haven't seen any mention of this on the boards, so I like to think I'm the first to notice it. Whether the two instances of tiny letters are related to each other, or even related to LP5, remains to be seen, but when LP5 comes out maybe we'll be able to look back on them and finally identify what they meant.

Turns out we've solved it :D

'mvaajrn' is just the initials of all the kids to the band. Moses Violet Apple Ava Juno Rex Nico. The deal with the question marks...remains a mystery.

 

'SAMMAJNYCV' is actually 'GAMMAJNYCV', because it is just the initials of the wives and kids for all five members of the band:

Gwyneth

Apple

Moses

Marianne (Will's wife)

Ava (their first kid)

Joanna (Guy's ex-wife)

Nico (Guy's kid)

Yasmin (Phil's wife [unconfirmed])

Chloe (Jonny's wife)

Violet (their kid)

 

Again, the relevance of the question marks is unknown. Neither Juno nor Rex appear on this list, as they were born after the letters were written.

Could it be something to do with the initials of all their kids and a few extras??

Somebody email debs. I'm certain she would tell us weather it's meant to be a cryptic clue or just a subtle throwback to their family and friends.

I have both of Radiohead's Hail To The Thief and VLVODAAHF cd's.They are very similar, when comparing designs.Take a look.

PS I was very disappointed , when i had found that there were no lyrics in the booklet ):

Shit. mvaajrn is just the initials of the kids! Moses Violet Ava Apple Juno Rex Nico. That covers all of them. Hahaha.

But then there's the second one, which can't be the same thing. It might be the initials of parents though.

And Moses, Violet, Apple and Nico on another one...I'm afraid I don't know the names of Will's kids....

It ALMOST checks out completely to just being wives and kids.

I guess this just about closes the Mystery of the Tiny Letters. I think I'll update the first post to make it clear. But what do all the question marks mean? Estranged children? Unborn embryos?

The Y could perhaps be an unknown girlfriend of Guy. That's all I can think of. Then again, this was written at or before VLV's time of release, so he may not be in that sort of relationship anymore.

Juno and Rex were born about a month before VLV/DAAHF was released. I'm sure they knew they were having twins and most likely had picked out names, if they needed to submit the cover art before the twins were born.

I love the name Juno.....
