Would "Music Ecstasy" (if it was meant for MX for example) a stupid name? Is "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Band Club a stupid name? I'm sorry to say that you have no idea on pop-rock music if you're trying to evaluate the quality of music based on album or song names...

No, those are both fine names, what i meant by "sounding stupid" is not musically, but perceptually to someone who didn't know who Coldplay was. If I saw an album called MX UFO (which is just five letters, not even words) I would percieve that as a weird sounding album.

 

That Coldplayer said that they were pretty sure the album would be called MX UFO, but I'm just trying to say that there's no flow to that name and it just sounds too weird. Sensibly speaking, there's no chance that Coldplay would call their album MX UFO.

Well, Pectoralz was a joke, not the real name of the band at any point. X&Y is (in my opinion) a great name that expresses the essence of the album quite well. Moses IS an actual name so no problem there, and if you're talking about the song then it's even less weird because it's referencing the actual prophet. And Apple isn't actually that bad of a name when you get used to it, it's unique which is great. I think it'd be cool for every person to have a unique name and never have to meet another person with the same name.

I agree with you that whatever they decide to name it, it will be relevant/important.

 

Although the first thing that comes to mind with the combination of 'music' and 'ecstasy' is a rave. :|

All titles more or less techy, except the last one (which sucks so it doesn't matter). X&Y is more techy than my suggestion. Besides "letters" correlates with graffiti them.

Anyway, so far I liked their album titles and I wouldn't mind my guess. We'll see. Looking forward to when everything gets revealed and we hear the first tunes =)))

Really anticipating LP5 now. Will have to go some to beat A Rush of Blood To The Head but Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends stopped a possible slide which was threatening after X&Y with it's superb change from the rather plodding "lullaby" melodies which engulfed X&Y to a much more emphatic, sure, confident sound. Sure it's not perfect and doesn't reach AROBTTH's standards lyrically but musically it's a great palette. And I don't care what people's opinion of VLVODAAHF is. I fully believe it's a far better album than X&Y and Parachutes. Parachutes is overhyped in Coldplay context and musically is not that interesting. It's pretty standard but it's a very good effort for a debut but isn't as good as VLV.

 

A Rush Of Blood To The Head though is the water mark to which Coldplay have to reach and raise with LP5. I'm confident they can do it.

Maybe even earlier than September, eith all of this stuff happening.
