I don't think there's gonna be a turning back for Coldplay. They're just so big now that they can't go "underground" out of nowhere. Not that I wouldn't love the idea of that happenning in the future.

Yes Coldplay should drop one of the most gifted and talented producers of modern music. Don't be silly. And besides Markus Dravs took a more hands on role for the last album but still Eno was the central guru. Both did great jobs producing Viva La Vida and fully merit their chance on LP5. In fact I want to see Eno all over this album. If you want to suggest a better producer then I'm all ears.

Eno is definitely in the Coldplay mould and shouldn't get rid of him anytime soon. If not him maybe William Orbit or Rick Rubin, for Rubin if only for a more stripped back sound like he did with Johnny Cash.

I don't need Wiki. I'm as big a fan of his work as anything particularly with U2. At least 3 great albums by U2 alone. The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree and of course Achtung Baby. Remain In Light by Talking Heads is absolutely massive. And who can forget his immense influence on David Bowie's records?

 

edit: oh and Millionaires by James ain't a half bad effort either personally.

Genesis - The Lamb Lies down on Broadway (he wasn't really the producer but he did some treatments)
