Splendour in the Grass (Australia) to share headliners with Fuji Rock Festival?

Fuji provides more fodder for the Splendour rumour mill

Last year Fuji Rock and Splendour shared a fleet of acts including Ash, Scissor Sisters, Miike Snow, Yeasayer, Foals and LCD Soundsystem. So the announcement of the Fuji lineup provides excellent fodder for our favourite late Summer game: Guess The Splendour Lineup.

Summer Sonic, the other Japanese festival that traditionally acts as a bookend to Splendour, announced its lineup yesterday with the likes of The Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Two Door Cinema Club, PiL, Deerhunter, Primal Scream, Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All and an unnamed English act ( Blur? Beady Eye? PJ Harvey? ) catching our eye.

The Fuji lineup is even more Splendour compatible with several Splendour alumni including Arctic Monkeys, Mogwai and Coldplay on the announcement of the festival’s first 26 acts.

Fuji Rock will be held from Friday 29th July – Sunday 31st July.

Fuji Rock 2011 first announcement:

Arctic Monkeys

Atari Teenage Riot

The Avett Brothers

Big Audio Dynamite

Buddy Guy

Cake

The Chemical Brothers

Coldplay

Congotronics Vs Rockers

Cornershop

CSS

Deerhoof

Digitalism

Four Tet

Funeral Party

G.Love & Special Sauce

Incubus

Mogwai

The Naked And Famous

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart

Coldplay to play Japanese festival in July

news_line.png

Good evening. We're pleased to confirm that Coldplay will be headlining this year's Fuji Rock festival at the Naeba Ski Resort in Japan on Friday 29th July. For more info, or to buy tickets, head over to the festival's official website (available in English or Japanese).

To give you an idea of what Fuji looks like, here's a video of the band performing Politik at the festival in 2003.

hm

Well, actually Splendour In The Grass & Fuji Rock Festival to share line-ups but it seems SITG hopes this festival to be more indie.

Also, in Korea, we have Pentaport Rock Festival and Jisan Valley Rock Festival.

Especially, FRF shares headliners with JVRF.

Last year, we (JVRF) took Massive Attack and Muse from FRF and we took Pet Shop Boys from Tahiland or somewhere else in Asia. Also Belle & Sebastian, Vampire Weekend, Kular Shaker etc..

Plus, there was a strong rumor that Coldplay will be headlining last week.

But last night, one of music communities in Korea, announced we couldn't afford Coldplay so it can be cancelled.
