my review ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

1. Sweet intro~

I love the sound of the piano with the birds chirping, water running in the background. Beautiful!

2. Doing housework with this playing in the background makes me wish I was outside enjoying the summer-ish feeling day. I'm all for summery tracks! It's something I would listen to along with Best Coast (:

3. Very Fleet Foxes sounding, actually the first 10 seconds I was like,

"Uhmmmm, is this Fleet Foxes!??!?!" and then i felt dumb b/c it obviously wasnt! It's an absolutely delightful listen. His voice sounds very familiar but I can't put my finger on it!

4. I simply loved it! I more like the 2nd half of it (:

5. I listened to this one a few times cos i had a bit of a hard time ~liking~ But uhm, after like 10 listens it's quite good!

6. I love it, I love it, I love it! It sounds like off a movie score. Wonderful <3

7. I love the harmonica at the beginning! I was bouncing my head side to side througout the whole song. Wonderful! And I love how his voice gets high pitchy(?) during the chorus. This song makes me happy!

8. I like the music to this one, and I think it would be a ~grower~. His voice is kinda bleeegrlajgoia;mx/s/dwoefjoee;af

9. I HAVE HEARD THIS BEFORE SOMEWHERE! I LOVE IT ;________; that is all.

10. I like erm, the beat it has with the drum in the background (??idk???) Good stuff!

11. Eh... I don't know how to feel about this was exactly?? It was kinda bleh.

12. I really enjoy the girls voice, i'm not super crazy about it, but it's good. the song itself is ok too!

13. Oooh, haunting but in beautiful ways. I love the dancey beat that is added to it in the latter half of the song!

14. The beginning was 80's sounding! ME GUSTA! I'm a big fan of 80's sounding stuff. Great way to finish my mixtape!

Sorry it took me ~*~ so long ~*~ to review ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Overall I loved my mixtape, really! My mixtape maker either did excellent creeping or just has a super similar music taste. Thank youuuuuuuuuu!

Thank you again for that mixtape. I'm still listening to some of the songs you included on it and will probably check more from Herman's Hermits and Bon Iver because I really like what I have heard on the mixtape and from last exchange, Violet put a Bon Iver song I like. I think it's time to give him more attention.

You gave me Frighten Rabbit, British Sea Power, and Talking Heads on Mixtape Exchange ep. 4. Guess you really love them. And I almost put in The Tallest Man On Earth into my mixtape too, I just didn't know how to fit it in so I removed it :(

Indeed. Awesome Australians are awesome. :awesome:

OOOH. If it's going to be complete, I should download Andy's tape. I'll make a point of doing that some point after Easter Break. :wacky:

Awwww

I guess some of you Americans are ok, too

And Andy should download mine. Then it would be a REAL triangle. And awesome :awesome:

"I guess some of you Americans are ok, too"

why won't it let me post????

I'm trying to post my review and it says a security token is missing!?!?!?!? But why will it let me post this? And the above!?!?!?

Hai Ivet, it's me, Jasmin, and I was your mixtape maker! :P

my review ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

1. Sweet intro~

I love the sound of the piano with the birds chirping, water running in the background. Beautiful!

Rachel Grimes - 'Every Morning, Birds'. Her album is full of lovely solo piano stuff like this!

2. Doing housework with this playing in the background makes me wish I was outside enjoying the summer-ish feeling day. I'm all for summery tracks! It's something I would listen to along with Best Coast (:

Beach Fossils - 'Golden Age'. I agree - very summery track, and their debut album is also pretty neat! :D

Lost in The Trees - 'Song For The painter'. Interesting, now that I think of it, they might sound a bit like Fleet Foxes! Anyway, I think they're so underrated considering the talent they have. :(

4. I simply loved it! I more like the 2nd half of it (:

Sin Fang - 'Always Everything'. Wee I'm so happy you liked it ~ I had huge struggle choosing between his songs, I love most of them. :dead: Plus, I was wondering whether you would recognise Sindri's voice from Seabear!

5. I listened to this one a few times cos i had a bit of a hard time ~liking~ But uhm, after like 10 listens it's quite good!

Radical Face - 'Welcome Home'. I'm glad it ended up with you liking it rather than hating it! :P

6. I love it, I love it, I love it! It sounds like off a movie score. Wonderful <3

Yann Tiersen - 'Summer 78'. This was here because I have such a huge weak spot for piano tunes like this. I'm glad you loved it too!

7. I love the harmonica at the beginning! I was bouncing my head side to side througout the whole song. Wonderful! And I love how his voice gets high pitchy(?) during the chorus. This song makes me happy!

Angus & Julia Stone - 'Stranger'. I don't know why but this songs appeals to me the most of all their songs. :wacky:

8. I like the music to this one, and I think it would be a ~grower~. His voice is kinda bleeegrlajgoia;mx/s/dwoefjoee;af

Blur - 'Good Song'. :laugh3:

9. I HAVE HEARD THIS BEFORE SOMEWHERE! I LOVE IT ;________; that is all.

The Kooks - 'She moves In Her Own Way'. Yes, I was kinda excepting you would have heard this before! It's the best feelgood summery indie song I know!

10. I like erm, the beat it has with the drum in the background (??idk???) Good stuff!

Avalanche City - 'The Silence'.

11. Eh... I don't know how to feel about this was exactly?? It was kinda bleh.

Sin Fang Bous - 'Clangour And Flutes'. Haha, I was wondering whether you'd notice that this singer is indeed the same from track 4. :sneaky: Anyway, I also chose to include this because I just had too hard time choosing between his songs. :dead:

12. I really enjoy the girls voice, i'm not super crazy about it, but it's good. the song itself is ok too!

Braids - 'Plath Heart'. Like many others here, I love their new album!

13. Oooh, haunting but in beautiful ways. I love the dancey beat that is added to it in the latter half of the song!

Sun Deers - 'Loving Sons'. New discovery of mine - well I didn't really 'dicover them' because a person sent me a link on last.Fm. They have only two tracks that I know of but they're both reallt chill and summery.

14. The beginning was 80's sounding! ME GUSTA! I'm a big fan of 80's sounding stuff. Great way to finish my mixtape!

Wild Nothing - 'Gemini'. The more I've been into them for the past few weeks, the more I think I sould have included 'Live In Dreams' instead of this.. Anyway, they're both good songs and this one was better for a closer track anyway. They remind me a lot of The Smiths.

Sorry it took me ~*~ so long ~*~ to review ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Overall I loved my mixtape, really! My mixtape maker either did excellent creeping or just has a super similar music taste. Thank youuuuuuuuuu!

I so happy you enjoyed most of it! And when it comes to whether having excellent creeping skills or a super similiar music taste, I'd say both. :sneaky:

And the time was no problemo, really!

haha, great use of songtitles. Thanks again for the mix, Julia. You're obviously everywhere on the forum but we've never formally met, I don't think. Anyway...danke schon!

You are right! Hey, Chris nice to meet you:nice:

(you have called me Ren:blush: Hahahahaha)

My review, sorry for the lateness!

1) A nice atmospheric introduction to the album. I have absolutely no idea who this is, but it is beautiful.

2) Old school rock/punk...I have no idea who it is. I don't normally listen to this sort of music, but it is alright I guess!

3) Folk-y vocals, with nice guitars and a catchy melody. Really intrigued to find out who this is! Probably the song I like the best on the mixtape!

4) Fast vocals, I really like this one, again something I wouldn't normally listen to...this mixtape is definetely opening me up to some new genres!

5) Another rocky/punk song...I like the guys voice but the song is a bit 'meh' to me :/

6) Rappy...sort of...I like the instrumentation, really intrigued about this one as well. Nice!

7) Meh! I hate the girls vocals on this, sorry, haha. It's not a bad song, just a bit average, nothing too amazing.

8) Sounds like Owl City...is it Owl City? I think it is, maybe???? I really like it!!!

9) The beginning sounds like Time to Pretend by MGMT...but it doesn't stay like that! Love this one, love the doubling up of vocals.

10) I like the feel of this one...but it is like others on the mixtape, but I do like it.

11) This sounds familiar...but I don't know. Soundgarden maybe? Nah? Hmm, it's nice.

12) ROCKY! Lot of force and urgency, yeah, it's pretty good!

13) Best song on the mixtape...haha, nice! :P

14) Nice, but again a lot like other songs on the mixtape, not much variety

15) See above! Sorry to be rude, just it's all sort of the same to me :)

16) What? I just heard this didn't I? :P, but a different version, I prefer this one, a nice end to the mixtape.

OVERALL: I certainily didn't hate it, but there wasn't much variety in my opinion, most of the songs were very similar. But I did enjoy it. Thank you very much! :)

Oh that was me, and you reacted exactly how I expected you to haha, or better. :P

I'm not very good at this, but I guess it's kinda okay for my first time ever and now I have LEARNED THINGS1111111

and holy crap everything seriously is so freaking similar hahhahaha what is wrong with me i need to not do that next time :wacky:

And Andy should download mine. Then it would be a REAL triangle. And awesome :awesome:

Imma download the very next moment I get! :awesome:

1) A nice atmospheric introduction to the album. I have absolutely no idea who this is, but it is beautiful.

That would be In The Dolphin Tank by Port Blue (Adam Young)

2) Old school rock/punk...I have no idea who it is. I don't normally listen to this sort of music, but it is alright I guess!

Haha, this is Gravity by Agnes, which is Dave Douglas' (who was the drummer of Relient K for 7 years) solo project. Yay.

3) Folk-y vocals, with nice guitars and a catchy melody. Really intrigued to find out who this is! Probably the song I like the best on the mixtape!

I knew you would love this one.

This would be I'm Not Crying You're Not Crying Are You by Dear And The Headlights

4) Fast vocals, I really like this one, again something I wouldn't normally listen to...this mixtape is definetely opening me up to some new genres!

Airport Surroundings by Loney, Dear

5) Another rocky/punk song...I like the guys voice but the song is a bit 'meh' to me :/

haha i knew it, there were some other songs i was gonna put instead of this one that i really loved but then i ended up putting this one because it was shorter even though it's much less than brilliant :P

this is switchfoot and adding to the noise. and jon foreman's voice <3

6) Rappy...sort of...I like the instrumentation, really intrigued about this one as well. Nice!

I love this song

It's Focus by John Reuben~

7) Meh! I hate the girls vocals on this, sorry, haha. It's not a bad song, just a bit average, nothing too amazing.

shoot, i was gonna put a different song on here with mostly just dave's voice but then i put this on because for some reason most people seem to like this one first :wacky:

and it's springtime by attack cat

8) Sounds like Owl City...is it Owl City? I think it is, maybe???? I really like it!!!

It's not Owl City, it's Sailship and the song is called American Moon. :P

I put it on because I talk to Mark Swickley sometimes (like once we had an hour long conversation about naming cheesecake :|) and I thought he would appreciate me putting it on, so it's cool that you actually liked it haha

9) The beginning sounds like Time to Pretend by MGMT...but it doesn't stay like that! Love this one, love the doubling up of vocals.

It's Cover What You Can by Copeland,

10) I like the feel of this one...but it is like others on the mixtape, but I do like it.

It's Deas Vail (<3) and Sunlight, and it totally is like other things because I'm silly and don't know how to properly variety

11) This sounds familiar...but I don't know. Soundgarden maybe? Nah? Hmm, it's nice.

It's Waste Of Time by FM Static, you might recognize the vocals if you've ever listened to Thousand Foot Krutch.

12) ROCKY! Lot of force and urgency, yeah, it's pretty good!

It's Amanda by Ace Troubleshooter, and I get it stuck in my head all the freaking time haha

i almost said something about relient k here but then i stopped myself :cool3:

13) Best song on the mixtape...haha, nice!

It's Crayons Can Melt On Us For All I Care by Relient K, this song was destined to be on here. :P

R.I.P. those ten seconds of your life

14) Nice, but again a lot like other songs on the mixtape, not much variety

not much variety is my middle name baby :cool3:

It's Stronger by Seabird. :nice:

15) See above! Sorry to be rude, just it's all sort of the same to me

16) What? I just heard this didn't I? , but a different version, I prefer this one, a nice end to the mixtape.

It's This Is The End (If You Want It) by Relient K, kinda a two part song off their most recent album which Matt wrote when he secluded himself in a cabin for months after his fiance broke it off with him. :P This album is so different from the others maaan- and you should not give me opportunities to talk about them because i will never shut up so yeah!!

It's funny because I had so many other rK songs I was gonna put on, all of like completely different styles and I ended up putting this hahahaahaha derp

1. In The Dolphin Tank - Port Blue

2. Gravity - Agnes

3. I'm Not Crying You're Not Crying Are You - Dear And The Headlights

4. Airport Surroundings - Loney, Dear

Hahaha, for the Seabear guy, I've heard of Sin Fang but never really cared to check them (just him (????)) out. And I'm sometimes too dumb to pick up on voices~ + I don't listen to Seabear as much as I should :P

Anyway, sweetness, thanks!!

Reply to Navegador!

Sorry for the wait, but my review is ready now.

01. Well, it's a 24-second excerpt with marching sounds. Not much to analyse here. BTW, you forgot to remove "Muse" from the artist field :D

02. I'm not particularly fond of electronic music, but this is a nice song. It should've been a little shorter IMO.

03. Another nice piece of electronic music. Interesting melody, not a fan of the artificial-sounding vocals though (vocoder, perhaps?).

04. Really nice instrumental song. The best so far. Probably from the same artist and album as the previous track.

05. Isn't this one Adele's "Roling In The Deep"? Very good song, but I don't like this acapella version.

06. Chopan! I recognized the moment I started listening to it (also, you forgot to clean the artist field again :P). Amazing composition.

07. According to the ID3 tags, Do You Remember by Jack Johnson. A few friends of mine recommended his music, but I never listened to them (or to his music ). After this wonderful song, I'll try to get to know his songs better.

08. Another very good tune, but what's most interesting is what the artist did to the song. He could've done a regular rock song, but he didn't. It's hard to describe how this song sounds, but I like it.

09. According to the ID3 tags, Why Georgia by John Mayer. A simple yet very beautiful song. His voice is great!

10. Didn't like this track. It feels "empty", nothing actually "happens" in this song.

11. Didn't like this one too. Not sure why though. Maybe it's because I'm particularly picky with latin music.

12. According to the ID3 tags, Winter Winds by Mumford & Sons. It's a very good tune, one of the best so far. The only problem is that it's hard for me to listen to a I-V-vi-IV song after this (don't watch it if you don't want to spoil many songs you like):

13. Another great song. This voice sounds familiar, it's either Thom Yorke or the Muse guy (can't remember his name).

14. A trance remix of The Scientist. Honestly, I don't like remixes at all.

Overall, a very good mixtape. A few songs I dislike, but that's just inevitable when it comes to a picky guy like me. Dear mixtape (which I suspect to be a girl), thank you for making a mixtape for me!

effin.. asfgkij;fdgs HAHA It told me everything was removed! -_- sorry ! D:

here's the tracklisting! :D Thanks for listening/reviewing. Its completely understandable that you disliked some, I mean not everyone has the same taste in music, right?

tumblr_lk63ec8Qp91qbulp8o1_500.png

Track 1- I love it. I just put it on my ipod immediately. It was beautiful.

Track 2- Electro. Dubstep. unf.. It's cool! I like it. I didn't like the vocoder vocals much but the rest of it was really interesting.

Track 3- I love the intro. It sounds like an older song. I love how everything is panning and it's really distant. I love the vocals. Kind of sounds like the voice from track 1.

Track 4- To be honest I didn't really like this song. The instrumental part of this track was really repetitive.

Track 5- It was good! But not amazing to me.

Track 6- I didn't like this track I just thought some of the sounds were just plain down strange. No offense.

Track 7- This track was just straight up beautiful. I loved the french and the piano.

Track 8- Didn't really like this one.

Track 9- I loved the guitar and instrumental aspects but I didn't like the voice.

Track 10- I like this one! It's very all over the place and the far off vocals are sweeet!

Track 11- A nice ending to the mixtape! I liked it, reminded me of mumford and sons! Who I love.

Overall great mixtape! There were some tracks I absolutely adored. Naturally there were some that I disliked. But thanks so much for making me a mixtape. I apreciate it soo much.

Originally I had someone else, but they didn't show up so they gave me yours. I may have changed some of the tracks around or put different ones if I had time to.

anyway here's my tracklisting:

Originally the mix was 16 songs long, but when I listened back to it, it was way too lengthy.

Mike do you have a link to get your mixtape? :wacky:, looks good!

thanks!!
