May 10, 201115 yr http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jennifer_Hudson I felt inspired to start a thread for her, as I think she's one of the best vocalists around at the moment. She only finished seventh on American Idol, but has gone on to be one of the most successful singers ever to have come out of that show. She also gave a stunning performance in the film Dream Girls, which earned her a deserved Oscar. One of the best female soul singers I've heard since Whitney Houston was at the top of her game (sadly no more). Respect is most definitely due! Jennifer Hudson with her Oscar in Chicago, where it was declared "Jennifer Hudson Day", March 6, 2007 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxLFiZIZFtY]YouTube - Jennifer Hudson - 'I Remember Me' Live on Graham Norton[/ame]

May 12, 201115 yr Author Saw her in concert only a month open when she opened for Marioon 5 let me say taht she was fantastic. She really put on a show and I think she does deserved to be respected for her truly amazing voice As I said, I reckon she's one of the best around at the moment. Her vocal range is phenomenal. Seems like a genuine person too. Definitely not a diva in the "negative sense" of the word, like Mariah Carey, Whitney or Barbra Streisand. Just to make things clear.;)
May 12, 201115 yr I never been a fan of musicals, so I wasn't so excited by Dreamgirls. But when I saw a preview of the movie, the part when she sang "And I'm Telling You", I was so astounded that I finally watched the movie.I still hate the movie, but she was so awesome. But I really was disappointed by her single (limelight, or spotlight, or wahetever light). I was hoping she went soul, or blues. She chose R&B instead :\

May 12, 201115 yr Author Nope, because as most people know, "diva" has more than one meaning.:smug: The word "diva" is often used negatively, to describe a celebrity in film or music who is extremely demanding and fussy when it comes to personal privileges.
May 12, 201115 yr About 4,540,000 results (0.65 seconds) I win? So far... Nope, because as most people know, "diva" has more than one meaning.:smug: The word "diva" is often used negatively, to describe a celebrity in film or music who is extremely demanding and fussy when it comes to personal privileges. Way to post a definition that gives only one meaning, then.
May 12, 201115 yr No one jumped to conclusions. Even by your definition of it, it has only one meaning and it's clearly negative.
May 12, 201115 yr On the other hand, diva cups aint negative. They is usefuls. This should be the Jennifer Hudson diva cup thread.
May 12, 201115 yr Author No one jumped to conclusions. Even by your definition of it, it has only one meaning and it's clearly negative. Not at all. This is the traditional definition: A diva (English pronunciation: /ˈdiːvə/, Italian: [ˈdiːva]) is a celebrated female singer. The term is used to describe a woman of outstanding talent in the world of opera, and, by extension, in theatre, cinema and popular music.
May 12, 201115 yr Author I would have thought it would be patently obvious to everyone she's not a type of cup.:dozey:
