Perfect moments in music

Featured Replies

The moments that really get to you. That you connect with. The moments music becomes something more than sound.

For me it's:

The last 35 seconds of Bjork's Unravel, after such a wonderful song.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueUT_Mccn7w]YouTube - Björk-Unravel[/ame]

2:23-2:41 of Lime Tree by Bright Eyes (and I don't like Bright Eyes generally), with the strings, backing vocals and lyrics.

0:39-1:55 of Daniel Johnston's Walking The Cow for pure sound. The best part of any lo-fi song ever.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIYxE17dNBY]YouTube - walking the cow[/ame]

The end of The Man Who Sold The World by David Bowie

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agY6FBwHcHw]YouTube - David Bowie - The Man Who Sold The World[/ame]

It's important to know that they all sound amazing within the context of the song, and of course have personal emotion attached to them.

Apologies if this thread has been done before. I did a search for one. Stick it on the end of that one if it's already around.

Intro.

Abbey Road album

This song reminds me when I was 8 years old and the 2002 Korea - Japan world cup was taking place. This is actually the only japanese song that I like (or know). The chorus is great. I'll leave you two versions, the original by The Boom, and a cover from Alfredo Caseros. The last one was chosen the official song to represent Argentina at the 2002 world cup so it was quite known here in the Rio de la Plata region. Today is the first time I listen to this song in 9 years, so lots of memories came into my head.

^:)

oooh there are so many I think

here are some of mine:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5a0w7HWA2U]YouTube - The Doors - Moonlight Drive / Horse Latitudes [Live][/ame]

I think the perfection is starting around 1:40 or something like that until the end, esp. after Jim has spoken/sung "Horse Latitudes" and when he starts singing again "Easyyyyyy to love you as I watch you climb yeah we're falling through wet forests on our moonlight drive......." I do sometimes feel like someone should kill me because it is so fucking perfect (to me) and I don't know what to do with myself, because I just can't handle it anymore......ok I will stop talking about this....it sounds weird haha

It's only this live version though....

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHdPtlIeJYQ]YouTube - Radiohead ~ You And Whose Army (Kingdom of Heaven)[/ame]

the reason why it was 1st on my Radiohead top 15 list:

It's so quiet and I don't know but his voice sounds so "bored"at the beginning and the climax with the piano is incredible! So this climax to the end is another perfect moment for me....

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymIqLimNb30]YouTube - Paper Tiger KCRW - Beck[/ame]

(unfortunately I can't post the studio version of this, because of lame german youtube)

It's the string part in the middle of this song (3:40).....wait...didn't he take this from Serge Gainsbourg? Whatever the strings combined with this song are so good....and I love that the string part is more than 20 seconds....enough time to get lost in it for erm 20 seconds

that's it so far...I know I could post more

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTCe02uV3TA]YouTube - House Of Cards - Radiohead[/ame]

This short moment from 2:48 to 2:53. Beyond words.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtemrZ7-pj0]YouTube - Sigur Ros - Svefn-g-englar[/ame]

Every second of this is magical but especially this moment at the start when it kicks in (at 1:23) and then again at 6:07.

This song is so incredible. It's one of those song that you can't believe someone actually came up with this.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P77GfpzqDvQ]YouTube - Arcade Fire - No Cars Go[/ame]

From 3:41 till the end might be the most powerful thing I've ever heard. Nothing can beat that. It's just completely overwhelming. Words fail to describe it.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUGzWETn1HQ]YouTube - Arctic Monkeys A Certain Romance[/ame]

From 3:52 to the end. :bomb:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IykWbUVDWL8]YouTube - The sunshine underground - Chemical Brothers[/ame]

This is just full of perfect moments so I'm not going to list them !

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kckXO6lhctw]YouTube - The Drums - Me and The Moon - The Drums[/ame]

The instrumental part from 1:48 to 2:31.

Sorry I felt like spamming this thread a little. I'm done for now though. :p

-First few notes of the solo to Comfortably Numb-Pink Floyd
