There is a discussion gong on about this topic on my radio as I type this and I just wanted to hear your thoughts on the matter. Some are saying that it is less harmful than alcohol and some are saying NEVER legalize it as it's bad .

I don't see weed as harmless as most people think. I know too many weed smokers who smoke everyday and they seam dull, boring, and lazy. I know people who did not or smoked a little start smoking weed everyday, and after about 6 months their personality changed for the worst. The heavy weed smokers that I know who have done it for years get older looking quicker. I wish I was around better people. I do not smoke weed.

I do not see alcohol as bad as weed for personality change, but drinking too much is dangerous.

Alcohol is legal and there are so many deaths by drunk driving yet they criticize weed as if it's the worse thing ever, I say legalize it but have an age limit like they do with alcohol and the problem will be solved.

Plus the government would be able to tax "weed" as it does alcohol and cigarettes, helping the economy.

I don't indulge in any of it, but it does seem daft for alcohol and cigarettes to be legal when dope isn't.

It would still be possible to ban smoking of all kinds in public places, anyway.;)

Well, it's semi-legal where I live, and it's never really been a problem for me. We have about the same or less drug-related violence as anywhere else in Europe.

Weed is legal here if you get a medical card for it. I know lots of people who have this, so it is not hard to get. Weed smoking has gotten more popular in the last few years. There are singers who promote it, lots in hip hop, and it has become popular for young people. There were many years when weed was not popular, and when it became legal it became more popular. I don't smoke anything.

I think the fact that its illegal actually makes it more attractive to young people.

i'm not sure where i stand on this on the moment. i mean, i wouldn't do it but it seems so inconsistent that it's illegal.

 

plus, research has proven everyone's favourite argument that it's a gateway drug is kinda wrong

I've never even tried it but I probably will if given the opportunity -- meaning, if people are passing weed around, I will try some, probably.

 

I think it should be legalized.

I just met some people who just moved to CA from South Carolina just because weed is legal here and not there. In the USA the state determines how legal or illegal it is. Here young people call it weed and older hippies call it pot. There are stores that you can walk in and buy it if you have the medical card. I am not part of weed culture, but I see it around me. Other words are joint, ( bazoon, spliff for big ones), (bong for water pipe), and many other words that I don't know.

I've never really enjoyed it at all but I don't see a problem with it being legal, although the same applies for most other drugs.
