Jonny Greenwood, probably better known as the guitarist in Radiohead, explores white noise in his Popcorn Superhet Receiver. Steve Martland's Crossing the Border is his response to Bach's Chaconne in D minor for solo violin, and Joe Duddell's Shadowplay for cello and orchestra was premiered in 2003.
