Radiohead

Featured Replies

Do you think Radiohead will ever make another album like "The Bends?" I was watching the Jools Holland performance of the song "The Bends" for the millionth time, and it made me wonder if there will ever be a time where Radiohead just strap on their guitars and rock hard. The Astoria DVD also reminded me.

By the way, I think I can answer my own question with a NO. I think they are passed that phase, and would look at it as going backwards, but damn I love that album.

  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

they sort of have a similar feel to eachother yet, they feel like two seperate entities. it really depends which i like better because w/ their albums it always switches. at this point i'm in more of a kid a phase

I get that. sometimes I like the Bends most, sometimes OK Computer, right now Kid A, sometimes In Rainbows. I guess it depends on the day

I love both of them. But Kid A is definitely my favourite. I don't find there is a single weak moment in Kid A. Even Treefingers is great...don't believe me? Listen to it in a dark room as it goes into How To Disappear Completely.

Amnesiac, I find has more weak spots, sometimes I can't listen to it all the way through. But Pyramid Song is a masterpiece, a beautiful sonic parade to my ears.

I love em both, but like Kid A the best.

I absolutely love Treefingers, it sounds like their most pure form of expressing themselves through just music. It's actually one of my favorites on the album, it's so great!:D

I really love both, but I tend to prefer Amnesiac. Briggins said that he can't find any weak moments in Kid A, well it's the contrary to me. I sometimes am not in the mood for the whole National Anthem (i sometimes get bored listening to it) nor Treefingers, even though I love both tracks.

Anyway, there is no moment i dislike in Amnesiac : besides obvious masterpieces like Pyramid Song, Knives Out, Like Spinning Plates and Life In A Glasshouse, i also adore Pulk/Pull's bizarreness, Hunting Bears transports me so well, and i love Morning Bell/Amnesiac (it's so f**king strange !)

sounds great!

I do not believe they are passed rocking out. I think they change so much, they will find a new balance of experimentation and loud guitar. I can't picture Jonny never headbanging again:rolleyes:

Hm, i'm getting more and more convinced that Radiohead is simply outstanding.

there's no denying it

This is a really great video to watch if you half a half hour

It shows the real Thom Yorke and everything it took to make Kid A

I'm starting to like you more and more.

And in regards to the Bends. They have definitely gone through their rock phase and won't record another album like it. But I'm not arguing. I love the Bends, but I love what they are doing right now alot.

there's no denying it

I'm converting my friends to Radiohead slowly:sneaky:

I've actually never hated Radiohead.. i think i heard "creep" for the first time around 2003 and thought it's a good song. Now i know that there are about billion other radiohead songs that are 10x better than creep.

My love to Radiohead has been slowly getting bigger and bigger, Thanks to Briggsy really!

I still remember when you recommended me to listen to "the bends" an year ago or so and i totally loved it

After watching that interview Thom isn't that intimidating anymore either hah

What other 'Head stuff have you been digging lately?

Kid A actually..

I guess i'm just in the mood for those weird-ish songs.

Ahhhh .... I still remember the feeling when I first discovered them. I hardly believed it was music. And then these obnoxious feelings just turned into hm, love? :D

Know what you mean. Glad another Kid A lover is being made!

Also, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3-4fK8h8ig]this[/ame]. Lift.

this[/url]. Lift.

intro reminds me of Yellow

and Thom is wearing yellow:shocked2:

Yeah. The beginning sounds just like Yellow though. :uhoh2:

Oh yeah and i'm proud of that :cool3:

And this. Just keep fitting F5 and help Jonny win! :D

I need to listen to Kid A. Too bad I don't have my CD player here, boo.

Hey, thanks for the video. I only got half way through it, but I will watch the rest later. 2 things about Thom Yorke:

1. He is the only person who can talk in a manner where he seems CONFUSED and BRILLIANT at the same time.

2. I LOVE his calculator watches :)

Know what you mean. Glad another Kid A lover is being made!

what are you talking about?

After about a year, once again I found myself watching Thumbs Down Webcast last night and that whole thing cracks me up every time I watch....talking about what kind of music they listen to... they each DJ some of their favorite music and Thom definitely has some liking to electrotech stuff and Ed, well, he's just hilarious dancing to his favorites... Thom's dancing also too funny and then each has such different tastes in music. One of my favorite watching videos... Thom's head in the box singing 15 Step and Brad Pitt yelling "What's in the box....c'mon what's in the box" :D

Did anyone watch that whole Japan Tour 2008 concert ... the whole thing was on YouTube 1.5 hours show from Japanese TV... that's pretty good camera angles and sound is great!
