Rest in Peace Dear Oliver Postgate

I woke up this morning to hear the Oliver Postgate has died, which makes me very sad.

His childrens Tv shows changed my life and my childrens so we wish him well wherever it is he is off to next.

He had a great website as well, was very politically minded.

Anyone who is involved in the upcoming climate negotations in Poland might, in memory of him and all his amazing work, want to read this essay from 2006

I actually do like the astoria dvd. Its pretty good

I have been Kid A obsessed lately, and am getting Amnesiac for Christmas. I just want some opinions, which album do YOU like better, or they incomparable?

they sort of have a similar feel to eachother yet, they feel like two seperate entities. it really depends which i like better because w/ their albums it always switches. at this point i'm in more of a kid a phase

I love both of them. But Kid A is definitely my favourite. I don't find there is a single weak moment in Kid A. Even Treefingers is great...don't believe me? Listen to it in a dark room as it goes into How To Disappear Completely.

 

Amnesiac, I find has more weak spots, sometimes I can't listen to it all the way through. But Pyramid Song is a masterpiece, a beautiful sonic parade to my ears.

 

I love em both, but like Kid A the best.

I really love both, but I tend to prefer Amnesiac. Briggins said that he can't find any weak moments in Kid A, well it's the contrary to me. I sometimes am not in the mood for the whole National Anthem (i sometimes get bored listening to it) nor Treefingers, even though I love both tracks.

 

Anyway, there is no moment i dislike in Amnesiac : besides obvious masterpieces like Pyramid Song, Knives Out, Like Spinning Plates and Life In A Glasshouse, i also adore Pulk/Pull's bizarreness, Hunting Bears transports me so well, and i love Morning Bell/Amnesiac (it's so f**king strange !)

Yeah, I have that DVD, and it is good.

 

But I agree, I think they were only far enough in their careers to play songs from Pablo Honey and The Bends.
