But talking to a female, she understood the lyrics as a mother talking to her children. . . . interesting views from the different sexes. . . . .. But it makes sense as the mother and her children escaping from a bad father/husband. And you know, just because it came out in Romeo and Juliet...and it works as the boy/girl running away...doesn't mean that is the way it was "supposed" to be. and that is the great thing about music. Everyone can see it anyway they want. And unless the artists say what they wanted it to mean, no one will know. And even then people would continue to view the song the way their mind wants to.
