the scientist over paranoid android

you must be joking.

see chris at the brits?

his performance screamed 'THOM YORKE!!'

Coldplay-ripping off radiohead and doing a good job of it

well done chris your attempts at trying to impersonate thom yorke has won you the respect of many-namely all coldplay fans.

after seeing you at the brits working your socks off to look like thom yorke i too must commend you acting skills.

although i dont think thom would say such stupid things while collecting awards.

But that aside your band and you are the best radiohead tribute ive seen.

All hail the radiohead ripoffs!

well, that's an opinion of one radiohead fan. I am first and foremost a long-time fan of radiohead, and yeah, they sound similar, but hey, i reckon they're both somewhat choir-trained British men...ZOUNDS...now how could they at all sound similar. Now let's not forget Thom's brother's band Unbelievable Truth...oh no! He sounds like Thom too!!!

Chris Martin is a huge fan of Thom Yorke, and has great respect for him as a person and an artist. I don't think he would attempt to "rip off" songs from a band he admires...rather, more like admiration perhaps?

We sometimes forget that there were also other bands around when Radiohead came out, and people were saying about how Radiohead might have had a sound similar to theirs...

Coldplay has paved theirs as well. I don't forsee Coldplay playing songs

like Idiotheque in the near future :)

Strong yes, but it's just my opinion.

the scientist has to be the best lyrics that coldplay has ever written...

i would really appreciate if you wanted to talk about radiohead go over to other music...not here in the coldplay forum. :D

i understand ppls opinions and respect them just dont say things other fans don't want to hear, and that mainly goes for the other thread you made in this forum only. :D

nice topic though ;)

btw welcome

Creep

The Scientist & Paranoid Android (even round - completely different songs so hard to judge)

Karma Police

Clocks & Street Spirit (again a dead round)

Trouble

In general I would say that with the exception of Pablo Honey, Radiohead's Lyrics are superiod but less accessible. I'm not sure if this makes some Parachutes and Rush songs superior - I love them both so your breaking my heart even making me think about it :| :D

Yes, Radiohead and Coldplay are beyong phenominal acts..and are two of the greatest bands that have come from the UK, but I don't see the comparison. Besides the fact that they play alt. rock, their lyrics are very different and their music sounds the least bit the same. I'm a little sick of these comparisons, and would like to see Coldplay be viewed on their own as a unique and individual band set apart from the rest. I don't feel in any way that they're trying to impersonate the rest.

i already apologised for saying what was on my mind-theres no point in saying anything like that on a coldplay or radiohead site.

but he just wants to be him-look at the brits

fake plastic trees-the scinetist

Chris is chris, thom is thom, they are both original and great! But really... they are just themselves.... dont know what to write... i just do NOT agree!

Couldn't have said it better myself...well done Ammanda! :-D

this is a constant debate...Radiohead is my favorite band and while i can see why people see similarities between Chris and Thom, they are completely different and i enjoy both very much.

I don't listen to Radiohead at all so I can't comment :P

You don't??? :-o Wow...i didn't know that...

*NOT IN THE MOOD FOR THIS RUBBISH*

if theres no point saying anything like that on a coldplay site then why say it

dont answer the trolls messages

its what the troll feeds on. Poor love, youre only encouraging him. Its kinder to let him make his sad little posts, clearly hoping to offend and aggravate but ignore them. You'll upset him a lot more by doing so than by responding to his attention seeking. He needs to learn that nice people dont interact in this way.

then why even post anything- you cant even admit that he acted like a fool-im not dissin coldplay-i apologised for the whole rip-off thing but he just acted sad when he collected his awards.

old lady shut-up go away
