Wait til' Coldplay are as "old" as radiohead, then compare.

it's all about personal opinion,i'm never gonna say Radiohead over Coldplay as i'm just not a big fan at all of Radiohead and given coldplay have been about 11 years or so is enough to justify my answer.

I think I like Coldplay better too. I just try to keep an open mind.

Does anyone else get really tired of hearing about Radiohead and Coldplay.

I literally have an undying love for both Coldplay and Radiohead. But I really can not STAND the comparison of the two. Billboard Music did a review of "Mylo Xyloto" and repeatedly said they fell back into the "Radiohead feel". I hate that! I've heard every Coldplay song known to man, and I've never even once felt that they acquired there style from them. Radiohead is brilliant, and Coldplay is brilliant, both in there beautiful distinct ways. Does anyone else agree? Or disagree? I'm all ears, just like to hear what you all think!!!

* another Coldplay v. Radiohead thread *

edit: Just merged 15 threads.

edit 2: To answer your question Stuckey, at this point in the game I agree with you that comparisons between the two bands are moot. And I cringe when people call them "Radiohead-lite", because that's not even a proper label. I think some of both bands' earlier work sounds similar, but that's more because Radiohead was a big influence on Coldplay. Radiohead soon went down a path that Coldplay could not follow, a/k/a Kid A. The bands went down two completely different paths after that, as far as I'm concerned.

I've always liked Radiohead; but I recently saw them on SNL, and it was almost unwatchable. I was thinking wtf happened to them?!:inquisitive: A lot of people I know think their music is too obscure, and I never agreed before now.

OMG, why are we talking about this AGAIN?

Somebody started a new thread so I was motivated to merge it with 14 prior threads. :tongue:

SNL was a really bad and sloppy performance of Lotus Flower. But Staircase was really good. The Colbert Report's performances were ace too.

For this poll I wonder who I'm going to vote for :thinking: :dozey:

I like a few Radiohead songs, but have never been a big fan. Other than the songs that I have heard, they just bore me. I need to listen to more from them though.
