Three Years Ago Today...

Featured Replies

Was the first "official" Viva la Vida concert that launched the whole tour. It was at The Forum in Inglewood, CA - a very old arena in a Los Angeles suburb. The band had done several "practice" shows for friends and family, and that show at MSG, but it was July 14 that the first sold out show in Los Angeles was played. And it wasn't even supposed to be July 14. But July 15 sold out so quickly, they added the show July 14. And that made me very happy because I couldn't go to the show July 15.

Hard to believe it! So much has happened in the past 3 years...

Dang! That's pretty crazy. Three whole years. :stunned: I'm glad you got to go! And it's been basically that since the album came out too. Just add a month or so. I remember going out specifically on the day it came out (first time I ever did that) and bought it and it was so amazing. :] Three years goes by so fast. I wonder where we'll all be by then. Where Coldplay will be. Hopefully we'll get the 5th album before then. ;) :P

I am glad that you got to go and see Coldplay three years ago, Dianne.

Where did the time go? Time truly flies.

3 years ago - on 22 June 2008 - I heard VIVA LA VIDA for the first time and fell in love with that song as well as Coldplay - a love (for both song and Coldplay) as strong today as on 22.6.08.

Later I joined this forum and found many Coldplaying.com friends - and this is actually my 20,000th post here.  :sunny:

I live in So Cal, and I distinctly remember deciding against going to the Forum show (BAD COLDPAY FAN!) because I wanted a perfect show, and wondered if they had worked the kinks out yet. I went to the Home Depot Center show a year later and it was awesome.

That's great! I too, went to my first concert July 6th, and two days after I joined you! :) It has been great to see so many people think/feel the same as I do.

Aww Dianne, great memories..... Now lets make a bunch of new ones!!!!!:singer::chris::dazzled::drummer::will::dazzled::hug:

Three years ago I started being a Coldplay fan :wacky: I'm so happy! :D

I feel like a bad Coldplay fan. I live near LA but have decided not to go to the UCLA show. Too many things fighting against me, have you seen the ticket prices? $349 for VIP??? I'm going on vacation soon so need my $$ for that. I will miss them though!

Plus, they weren't easy to get. Check out the live thread. Lots of frustrated people. And the VIP tix were "normal" but good seats that just come with a lot of extras - open bar, lounge, souvenir, etc...

Plus I actually went in to try to get tickets when I got my email with the password, I thought, "What the heck," checked best available and it came up with nothing! I'm going to go over and read the live threads. Maybe I don't feel so bad now.
