The whole space theme deleted?

Featured Replies

before we get the MX art. everywhere was UFO written, but now. there's nothing known that UFO is written on the MX art. Same for Alien Radio.

My question is, is the whole space theme deleted? or do we get it just as Moving To Mars as b-Sides?

and what about Golden Arrow. also not on the MX art. but Xylobrytes is still on it

I think it's plausible. A Hopeful Transmission doesn't even need to be spacial themed, it could be like the radio tower for Major Minus Media.

I kinda think (with MTM and all) that it will be incorporated. This whole album is going to be really interesting...

some time ago chris wanted a solar system, but i don't know if he used it or not... maybe everything was left...

a off thread but Just one example is the first band go in the concert and me almost alone in the crowd, strangely.

maybe the same kind described but me never going in concert Coldplay .

I wouldn't say it was totally omitted, but I wouldn't put it past them.

We don't even know if Golden Arrow is a song title. It's not registered on the PRS or anything. You're right about UFO though, I haven't seen it anywhere for a while.

I suppose that the golden arrow is a HLH reference:

"...See the arrow that they shot, trying to tear us apart

Fire from my belly and the beat from my heart

Still I won't let go

Still I won't let go..."

No "golden", but there's the arrow

Seriously, Moving to Mars is not even spacey if you do an effort in understanding the lyrics.

Besides I think it's just a side-theme, the graffiti being the main theme. I don't know.

I thought the space thing was just a component of it and not really a theme but like, a metaphor?

Yeah metaphors are very frequent in music and literature. But I think theme and metaphor have completely different meanings.

They do have different meanings.

I don't really think there was ever a space theme, kids.

edit: why did i call you kids :|

 lol :laugh3:

Okay, so I think that Car Kids was originally just what Chris told us; older generation complaining about newer generation. One of those following night when they were working on it, the band got really fucking drunk. Like, completely smashed. They played around with the acronyms and turned CK to the right and it looked like a spaceship. Then they wrote UFO, and woke up to an inspiration, thus pulling them back a few months from their originally planned finish date.

I don't know about that. but it must be important somehow. The MX paper opens up to UFO on the webside. I don't think it's meaningless. I won't give up on the song! Plus there's no reason to. It was even registered on the ASCAP site. Which is good news for us alien/space-loving types. :) i have a feeling the space theme has taken a back seat to many others though. :| And plus they need three U's. It could be one of them.

lets use logic here. MX is on the newspaper thingy (obvi) and it ended up being the album title. i'm sure in some point in time we will hear the song UFO. Whether it be on an LP or an EP or a single.

I think they might want to use the ufo idea for their live shows like U2 and the Claw. I think they want to make something big... Just a feeling i've had for a while we'll see what happens

Before the album comes out you never know ...

I think the issues of the album is already set before release of ETIAW if pictures of liberation UFO posted everywhere and there is evidence that the UFO must have a song so ... Sure he did a song anyway you can mention that not all yet discovered what it says on the cover of MX can be there Lyrics UFO or alien radio Meanwhile, we do not know. I think that UFO will still be on the album.

And damn what it Xylobrytes?

I think the space thing is a small motif. If you think about it, it's had a presence throughout their whole musical careers (most obviously during X&Y). It obviously fascinates Chris.
