Following EP?

Featured Replies

There's obviously a lot of speculation about a Prospekt's March EP.

Will they really do that again? Especially as there's a pop-up book edition of MX. They're doing so much for 24/10 edition, it seems a bit of a rip-off to release a deluxe album a year or so from now.

What other alternatives are there to the following EP do we reckon? And what would we like to see on it? I personally think they should hide CDs with tracks that didn't make it, and then do graffiti clues in big cities, leading to their whereabouts :P

Haha that would be cool, but the tracks would be uploaded to YouTube for everybody to hear as soon as somebody found the CD so it would sort of defeat the object. Then there's the fact that graffiti is illegal almost everywhere.

I think any extra material will be released as b-sides rather than an EP this time around, although there may be very little extra material. Chris said they'll only finish 13 songs, which may mean there'll only be 13 recorded songs to come out of this era.

As long as I get new songs, it doesn't matter to me if it's part of an EP or b-sides or a new deluxe edition. Just don't throw away those songs (Famous Old Painters!)

Chris said they'll only finish 13 songs, which may mean there'll only be 13 recorded songs to come out of this era.

I hope they will finish other songs after the release of the album, like they did with Glass of water and the other Prospekt's March tracks, and release them later. If they really have hundreds od songs, it would be a waste otherwise

I guess they will release them as Singles' EP's like they did with Moving to Mars on the ETIAW EP.

Say that DLIBYH, UFO/Alien Radio, Sex & Violence, and Aiko don't make a proper release on MX. Even if there's no EP this time around, I wouldn't mind if DLIBYH and S&V backed Charlie Brown, and/or Aiko and UFO backed Paradise or HLH or any other single. Y'know? I wouldn't mind an EP, but this would suffice for me.

I don't think we can say right now whether or not that's going to happen--there's nothing that would lead us to believe that they will or they won't, but around the VLV era, there were a ton of conspiracy theories about whether or not it would somehow ending up being a double album, and we ended up being half-right, I guess.

And yes, they say they've written hundreds of songs, but they're very precious with their songs, and just because they have them certainly doesn't mean they'll release them. I think the whole Prospekt's March post-album EP thing was more of a one-time thing than a new trend they or the industry will pick up on and make standard practice.

I would love it if they released an EP after MX, a la Viva era, but I doubt that will happen :P

If we get any extra material for this era, it will mostly end up as b-sides or live-only songs (such as Moses).

I thought it was pretty awesome getting a second wave of songs after Viva La Vida. I'd love for them to release an EP after Mylo Xyloto. Maybe it'll be titled Zenolyphiams or something else weird and seemingly meaningless.

Yep.

I totally dig the idea. I am doubtful that they would do a Prospekts March again as one of their bonafide rules is to keep things a mystery. Another album follow-up EP would be predictable.

Another thought...just because they said only 13 or so tracks would be finished, it doesn't mean they will finish only 13. These artists are all liars, especially Coldplay!

I personally predict a more traditional approach when it comes to the additional tracks. B-sides or stand-alone singles.

just because they "finished" 13 songs doesn't mean they'll be released. trust me, i want a 13 song album as much as the next guy, but lets not count our eggs before they hatch. i'm sure they finished wedding bells, spanish rain, and famous old painters but they weren't released either.:dozey:
